Getting mass adoption for Hive has been a concern for most passionate hivers on the Hive platform. I feel that everybody should work together in terms of adoption of Hive irrespective of country, state, or region.

As a Hive user, I had to consider the easiest possible medium to use for Hive adoption organically in my country. Nigerians are especially passionate about cryptocurrency, especially the young generation. And Nigeria was the leading country in Africa in cryptocurrency business. But unfortunately, the use of web 3 platforms for crypto businesses is still extremely unpopular in Nigeria.

Even now, the majority of the population is not even aware of HIVE as a cryptocurrency, and the exchanges within the country do not even have HIVE listed on their platforms. Yet, Hive can gain adoption via any of the three mediums outlined below.

Being an experienced public speaker and group leader, I can confidently assert here that these three mediums to be shared here can be extremely productive if used appropriately.

1. Social Media groups

Social media groups such as Facebook groups, WhatsApp groups, Telegram groups, etc are hubs where individuals with diverse backgrounds come together and share interests and make friends. To introduce Hive in such groups as the ones mentioned above might be as easy as it goes especially if there is a reward attached to it. range 11-21

Group members or even leaders in good standing may bring new project news into the group and majority will invest in the projects even if it is an investment project. Whatever the news may be, as long as it is from a member in good standing within the group, it will surely be welcomed by most. This is how the majority of Nigerians came to learn about so many Crypto investment sites.

I have used this platform before while looking for referrals in the past and it is very reliable and easy to get individuals into new ventures. I promoted projects through this means in the past and got lots of investors in one day. Nigerians love to try and once it is brought to a group, it could catch fire if the venture has good incentives.

2. Religion platforms

Nigerians are highly religious and they have great respect for their leaders. Besides football and political rally, the second place where you can get more people is a religion Center. It is simpler here to catch people's attention, and the moment the information is being delivered by a religious leader, the followers immediately consent to whatever it is.

Religion Center may also serve as a meetup point for Hivers, once there's a leader or even a center leader involved the rest is easy to accomplish. Any idea or project that has the ability to generate money for people is always good to talk about in a religious Center. The reason is, most of the Nigeria youths are in the churches. If it would place money in their pockets no one would say no.

The majority of companies with new beneficial products have managed to use this platform to place their products out in the market, and I believe if the Hive community and people passionate about the growth and marketing of HIVE use this platform Hive can easily get momentum in Nigeria.

I know it will be extremely hard to convince a religion leader to believe in the concept of Crypto. But there are some young and vibrant religious leaders who see what crypto or digital money means. If the concept is explained well, and as long as it does not ask anyone to invest their money in the first place, I am sure that if this platform is harnessed, the impact will be very gigantic for Hive in Nigeria.

We already have a religion Community on Hive, a demonstration that this platform can thrive for Hive adoption naturally in Nigeria. It is just a matter of having the right individuals spearhead the campaign from religion centers in the country.

3. A web 2 and web 3 earning App combination

Nigerians are too anxious to make money online even if it means paying a subscription fee or buying a plan before they can make money using such a platform. As long as one person has shown that he/she is being paid by the platform, millions of Nigerians embrace such a platform.

And how about an earnings app with Web 2-rich features on the foundation of Web 3 where it is simple for users to sign up and just perform simple tasks daily and make some coins.

The one thing everybody hates is having to sign up becoming so burdensome like key export and backing. If registration and the signing in are as easy as visiting popular social sites such as Facebook and X.com, then this kind of application will thrive in Nigeria. As long as the application pays, Nigerians will flock in swarms even if they have to invest before receiving their remuneration.

This is what the Hive Onboarding Committee must work on. A feature that allows users to register and login and an effortless means of recalling and storing keys and the like web 3 functionality. Be it a premium, Nigerians will adjust to such an app. As long as it rewards users to some degree, the sky would be the limit for Hive in Nigeria.

There are really many online earning sites or applications in the Nigerian online market whereby millions of Nigerians make money every day by paying a fee, buying a subscription for a certain period of time, or investing. While most of them are just operating temporarily and others even lose money, more keep cropping up every day and Nigerians are rushing towards them in numbers.

A HIVE app with a full stack web 2 features can conquer the Nigeria Online market effortlessly, when it comes coupled with guaranteed rewards. Nigerians will pay with HIVE to utilize the app and it will be a blockbuster.

I think those who are concerned about Hive adoption need to look at this and utilize the above three mediums for Hive adoption in Nigeria.

@thelastdash I think Nigeria could indeed be an amazing market for hive, have had loads of talks with Nigerians here in the Netherlands about this!

Here are the points I got back for these guys:

  • HBD 15% interest rate - as a partial low risk hedge against the 24% inflation Nigeria is experiencing in 2025.
  • Community based, villages sponsor kids to go to Europe and get education and better job opportunities. These kids in turn sent money back to support their family and village. Now most use Wester Union. If the adoption rate of Hive is high enough, this means the fraction of the costs would be needed to support those who are dear to you (lower cost => more reaches it’s destination)
  • Corruption: Nigeria faces big difficulties with corrupt government , hive could provide an alternative against that.
  • lack of pension systems for lower schooled jobs. HBD with 15% savings coupd provide a great usecase there.

@thelastdash curious how you view these points.

@rainbowdash4l I am very happy to read this comment on this guest post. Firstly, the 15% interest rate on HBD savings is something we cannot get in our banks here, but the problem is that the majority of people here do not know anything about Blockchain, and those who has little knowledge about it only know about Bitcoin, memecoins, and ponzi scheme. So, it will take a lot of effort to teach people about it.

Secondary, only a few people can afford to send their children to Europe for education purpose. And those kids abroad could only send money to their people through a medium they understand. If we have kids that knows about Blockchain and Hive, then the cost of sending remittance home would be greatly reduced just like you said. I personally would like to send my son to Europe for education purpose of I have the financial capacity to do it.

Yeah, corruption is like a cancer that has refused to heal in Nigeria. Only if the government can embrace Blockchain technology for running the system.

Everything needs orientation and teaching for people to know how all these things could benefit them.
