Guild Brawls With Pizza 2 - One Vs One Fights Galore

Time flies! Just completed the 246th brawl with my awesome guild, which is none other than Pizza 2 The Deep Dish!

  • Fun In The Discord Chats

Really appreciated the interaction in the Discord chats within the Pizza guilds. During the preparation phase, there's a lot of information sharing and discussion on who to fill each fray. During the brawls, there were reminders to members to complete their brawl battles. And after the brawls, there were celebratory messages and some members (including me) would write about our experience in the brawls. Aside from brawls, I thought the donations were also very well organised and tabulated, with lucky draws to incentivise donors as well.

  • Moving Back To Bronze Fray

Had 6 battles this time and it was not an easy round, especially when they have recently introduced 3 rulesets for each battle. Moreover, I have rented out most of my cards because I was playing lesser these days.

  • We Got 5th!!!

So for the final result, we were 5th out of 9 guilds and got 350 Merits and around 13 SPS! A good bag of SPS! Who knows how much one SPS would go to in this market?

Individually, I had 6 fights this time and I won all 5 of them this time! Finished 2nd within the guild. Due to change in format, wins are actually awarded to the players present in the fray if guilds decided to skip the fray. For this round, there were 2 additional wins for me.

Battle 1 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Captain Katie

How on earth did I managed to win this? My opponent had the dreaded Quora Towershead at the front and the terrorising Katrelba Gobson at the back. But somehow Captain Katie took full advantage of her Snipe ability to get all the Bloodlust needed to overcome the entire opposing team.

Battle 2 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Bertrol Gobson

Another rapid but surprise win! Low mana battles are always tricky and I didn't know what to expect for this restrictive ruleset. Bertrol Gobson stepped up to the challenge and got the Bloodlust from the Opportunity ability and led the team to a well deserved win.

Battle 3 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Relenor Cleaver and Flagulon Reine

THIS WAS INTENSE! We rarely get 99 mana battles these days and this was one spectacle to watch. Both teams put their best lineup forward and I was struggling badly against the opposing Djinn Oshannus, who was so strong! But things turned around when they had to face my Djinn Oshannus, and fortunately, Nerissa Tridawn was the one quietly putting in the big hits and pushing my team to the finish line.

Battle 4 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: None

What a lousy loss to take. Not that I was being a sore loser. Sea Monster actually lived up to my expectations and won this 1 vs 1 battle with the opposing Marisol Contuma. But this was a Rebirth battle and Sea Monster lost out in the 2nd matchup. Oh well.

Battle 5 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

Another 1 vs 1 battle - what's with all these low mana battles? This time, Nerissa Tridawn went up against another Marisol Contuma again. Fortunately, Prophet Rosa's shield ability came into play and it gave Nerissa Tridawn a lot of time to take down the opponent.

Battle 6 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Gorth

A very tricky ruleset to play and I had to think out of the box for this one. Fire Magic lineup was my choice and the Fire Magic cards did very well! Kudos to Djinn Apprentice, who was dealing 2 Magic damage that was pretty decent for a 5 mana card!

So that sums up my 6 battles for this brawl! 83% win rate this time, pretty satisfied because we have had some tough battles. Let's keep fighting PIZZA 2!
