Good day to you all

Since my last guest post with the DUO trio, I went down a bit of a rabbit hole in my search for some more nice paintings of the artist LS Lowry.

After visiting multiple art galleries near me, I came across what I thought was a piece of Lowry's work that I had never seen before. Quite excitedly, I began having a good look at the details of the piece. There was something bugging me that I couldn't put my finger on.

Here is an example of the piece, as I couldn't take a picture at the gallery due to their picture ban, which is common in a lot of galleries.

Ignoring the signature of the artist in the bottom left, this piece does look like a rather colourful Lowry piece, but it isn't. It is by the artist Helen Bradley M.B.E. range 50-60
I had never heard of this artist, and since returning, I dug a bit into her and what other pieces she has done.

Helen Bradley was born in Lees, which is near Oldham in England in the year 1900. She attended the Oldham Art School in 1913, funded by a scholarship that Helen had won. Helen left it quite late in her life before she actually started to paint regularly, at the age of 65 years old.

From her debut painting in 1965 until her death in 1979, Helen had appeared on TV around the world, showcasing her works.
Publishing a book in 1971, And Miss Carter Wore Pink, the first of 4 books showcasing her paintings, which was met with much love and they went on to achieve great success. Published in America, Japan, and across Europe, these books only made Helen's works more in demand, and even till now, Helen's pieces still garner a high demand for her work.

This piece, measuring 36.5cm x 51.5cm was sold in 2022 for £44,00.00.
A very high price, but a very beautiful piece of art!
