Guild Brawls With Pizza 2 - Weapons Training Back Into Action!

Time flies! Just completed the 223rd brawl with my awesome guild, which is none other than Pizza 2 The Deep Dish!

  • Fun In The Discord Chats

Really appreciated the interaction in the Discord chats within the Pizza guilds. During the preparation phase, there's a lot of information sharing and discussion on who to fill each fray. During the brawls, there were reminders to members to complete their brawl battles. And after the brawls, there were celebratory messages and some members (including me) would write about our experience in the brawls. Aside from brawls, I thought the donations were also very well organised and tabulated, with lucky draws to incentivise donors as well.

  • Moving Back To Bronze Fray

Had 7 battles this time and it was not an easy round, especially when they have recently introduced 3 rulesets for each battle. Moreover, I have rented out most of my cards because I was playing lesser these days.

So for the final result, we were 7th out of 9 guilds and got 400 Merits and around 9 SPS! Ouch but we take what we get! Who knows how much one SPS would go to in this market?

Individually, I had 7 fights this time and I won 5 of them this time! Finished 3rd within the guild. Due to change in format, wins are actually awarded to the players present in the fray if guilds decided to skip the fray. For this round, there were 1 additional wins for me.

Battle 1 - WIN

Opponent fled! 1st win right off the start!

Battle 2 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Chimney Wallstop

I picked a wrong summoner for this battle and sometimes things like this happen when we get stressed with the countdown timer. My opponent smartly fielded Legionnaire Alvar with a Repair card and it caused a lot of problems for my team. In the end, all the little errors added up and I had to take a loss. Would I have found a better lineup to win this set - not sure too.

Battle 3 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Sola Ranjell

The Iziar/Sola Ranjell is always a strong combination for low mana fights and not many teams can overcome this Legendary pairing. Likewise for this battle. Comfortable win over here.

Battle 4 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Witch Of Warwick

Gosh. It's Quora Towershead again. There was no way I was going to fight a Quora Towershead supported by 2 healers. I fielded what I thought had the best chance but we just had to take the loss here again.

Battle 5 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

Wow.. Somehow we won! This was a tricky battle and to be honest I wasn't comfortable of this lineup. There were no Legendary or Gladius cards and the only strategy I had was to do Sneak attacks. Fortunately, Astral Entity's abilities quickly pulled the strings behind the scenes and we won this very very comfortably, to my surprise. Never underestimate these ordinary cards.

Battle 6 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Larissa Kerato

This was a masterclass on how to use Weapons Training. Aves Sturgis turned into a strong performance boosting two attack-less adjacent cards with Magic damage and this elevated my team's damage output. My opponent had no answers to the relentless Magic hits in this one.

Battle 7 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Larissa Kerato

My opponent gave me a lot of slack for this one, fielding just 4 cards for a 42 mana battle. Nonetheless they were still strong cards but my team had more than enough to overcome this. And it was made to look effortless because Delwyn Dragonscale gave the Magic cards a big boost.

So that sums up my 7 battles for this brawl! 71% win rate this time! Pretty satisfied, I did my best I could.
