Guild Brawls With Pizza 2 - Topped The Guild With 8 Wins!

Time flies! Just completed the 114th brawl with my awesome guild, which is none other than Pizza 2 The Deep Dish!

  • Fun In The Discord Chats

Really appreciated the interaction in the Discord chats within the Pizza guilds. During the preparation phase, there's a lot of information sharing and discussion on who to fill each fray. During the brawls, there were reminders to members to complete their brawl battles. And after the brawls, there were celebratory messages and some members (including me) would write about our experience in the brawls. Aside from brawls, I thought the donations were also very well organised and tabulated, with lucky draws to incentivise donors as well.

  • Staying In Bronze Fray

For this brawl, I decided to stick to what I fought in the last fray, which was Fray 6, which was 3/2/2/1. I felt I was starting to find my grove and this fray is neither too difficult nor too easy for me.

Had 9 battles this time and it was not an easy round, especially when they have recently introduced 3 rulesets for each battle. Moreover, I have rented out most of my cards because I was playing lesser these days.

  • We Got 2nd!!!

So for the final result, we were 2nd out of 9 guilds and got 862 Merits and around 13 SPS! All in all, a good result!

Individually, I had 9 fights this time and I managed to win 8 of them this time! Finished 1st within the guild!

Let's jump into the battles!

Battle 1 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Witch Of Warwick

A low mana battle here. At 15 mana, it's really hard to predict and I gambled on Witch Of Warwick. Fortunately, one well-timed Bloodlust was enough make her strong enough to see out this battle comfortably.

Battle 2 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

This battle lasted a whooping 15 rounds! Partnered Harklaw with Disintegrator for this Melee-only battle and my opponent was completely shut out. Harklaw once again proved why it's still a powerful Legendary Death card.

Battle 3 - WIN

Opponent fled! Yay!

Battle 4 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Witch Of Warwick

Had to face 4 Legendary cards in the opposing lineup for this battle, but surprisingly, it turned out to be a relatively easy win. Somehow I had more HP for my opponent to go through and my damage output was good enough. Credit to Dhampir Stalker whose True Strike ability ensured that all the hits went through.

Battle 5 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Liza Fox

Once again, I had to face another strong opponent - but miraculously I survived the battle with yet another easy win. All my 6 cards remained standing at the end! All the cards pulled their weight and Astral Entity's abilities ensured that the lineup could survive all the big hits thrown their way. A very satisfying win. That's 4 out of 4 wins with Death lineup!

Battle 7 - WIN

Opponent fled! Yay!

Battle 8 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Captain Katie and Sola Ranjell

Oh dear. I thought my lineup was okay but I left an opening at the backline, allowing my opponent's Gladius card to hit at free will. Eventually, there was no turning back. Did my best so no regrets here.

Battle 9 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

Yet another impressive battle from my team! Every card pulled their weight against an almost impossible to win lineup. My opponent deployed Venari Marksrat with Grum Flameblade in a Rebirth battle, but fortunately Djinn Inferni had Giant Killer ability and that made a whole lot of difference. A very close battle and Djinn Inferni was hands down the MVP and was the last card standing.

So that sums up my 9 battles for this brawl! A 88% win rate, good enough for me!
