Guild Brawls With Pizza 2 - Beaten But Not Down

Time flies! Just completed the 234th brawl with my awesome guild, which is none other than Pizza 2 The Deep Dish!

  • Fun In The Discord Chats

Really appreciated the interaction in the Discord chats within the Pizza guilds. During the preparation phase, there's a lot of information sharing and discussion on who to fill each fray. During the brawls, there were reminders to members to complete their brawl battles. And after the brawls, there were celebratory messages and some members (including me) would write about our experience in the brawls. Aside from brawls, I thought the donations were also very well organised and tabulated, with lucky draws to incentivise donors as well.

  • Moving Back To Bronze Fray

Had 5 battles this time and it was not an easy round, especially when they have recently introduced 3 rulesets for each battle. Moreover, I have rented out most of my cards because I was playing lesser these days.

  • We Got 4th!!!

So for the final result, we were 4th out of 9 guilds and got 400 Merits and around 20 SPS! A good bag of SPS! Who knows how much one SPS would go to in this market?

Individually, I had 5 fights this time and I won 2 of them this time! Finished 7th within the guild. Due to change in format, wins are actually awarded to the players present in the fray if guilds decided to skip the fray. For this round, there were 3 additional wins for me.

Battle 1 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Gorth and Chimney Wallstop

Despite having a strong pairing in Gorth and Chimney Wallstop at the front, I wasn't able to handle the opposing Quora Towershead. Probably could have done better with my card selection as I had attacks scattered all over the field with Opportunity and Sneak. Probably should have been more targeted.

Battle 2 - WIN

Opponent fled. 1st win!

Battle 3 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Marisol Contuma and Sola Ranjell

Another fight against Quora Towershead, another loss. There was just no way around to fight a low mana battle against Quora Towershead supported by a healer.

Battle 4 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Isgald Vorst and Alva The Crusher

Another fight, another loss. I was definitely out of depth here with my opponent having a much higher damage output. Especially that Shock Trooper. Hope to do better.

Battle 5 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Witch Of Warwick

Woohoo! I finally nailed the Reckless ruleset! I did badly in the previous battle against a Reckless ruleset and this time round, it came back again and I gave it more thought before fielding my lineup. I packed my team with Life Leech cards and self-healing cards to prolong their health while the Reckless does the damage! Probably just my own battle win in this brawl but am happy that I managed to this nail this new and tricky ruleset!

So that sums up my 5 battles for this brawl! 40% win rate only, but a large part of the bad result was due to fighting against Quora Towershead. We look forward to the next one!
