🎵 Three Tune Tuesday! 🎹 Picking Alternative Eighties Artists Who Brought Synth’s into Alt Rock On This ThreeTuneTuesday! 🎹 Depeche Mode & New Order & Gary Numan! 🎶

On this June 9th Three Tune Tuesday morning, I’m going full on alt eighties synth! Picking three tunes from three albums & three separate artists! All pioneers in the Synth alt scene who would go on to be major influences on nineties & 2000’s alternative artists who incorporated synth into there music!

Starting with Depeche Mode in 1987
Then New Order another 1987 tune! Finishing the picks with Gary Numan and a 1980 tune!

Band - Depeche Mode
Song - Behind the Wheel
Album - Music for the Masses (1987)

Band - New Order
Song - True Faith
Album - Substance (1987)

Band - Gary Numan & Tubeway Army
Song - Down In The Park
Album - Replicas (1980)

For Bonus Tune I go with an artist heavily influenced by the three picks above and putting out his first album & only eighties release is Nine Inch Nails and the 1989 album Pretty Hate Machine. Most the artists above had a few albums out before the release I chose from and Trent aka Nine Inch Nails had years of being influenced by all three! Just making the eighties cut off its NIN & the song Terrible Lie!

Band - Nine Inch Nails
Song - Terrible Lie
Album - Pretty Hate Machine (1989)

Thanks for swinging by! Drop a comment and let me know what u thought of the tunes! Also big thanks to @ablaze for hosting #ThreeTuneTuesday weekly along with his weekly prize giveaway! Go check ‘em out for more info!

Finally you’ve gone back further than 1990’s. I like it.
Back to some of the 80's classics!
Here in my car
I feel safest of all
I can lock all my doors
It's the only way to live in cars
Gary Numan must had seen the future with many people living in their car today.
He saw the future indeed! Ironically he hated Cars song for decades, I guess the one hit wonder thing at least in USA mainstream wise, but now he has grown to embrace it! He influenced many artists decade & decades to come.
How u been?
What an amazing set of songs you chose today! I love both those songs by Depeche Mode and New Order, such classic music done with style and originality. No one has really ever eclipsed either band in that arena. And Gary Numan, what an amazing album! That's why I love the late 70's and early 80's!
NIN was a nice bonus to bring up the end there, great TTT! Have a tip!
Rite back at u brother!
If you hadn't posted this yesterday, I wouldn't have remembered that it was already Tuesday. My body clock is so messed up. I made sure to listen to everything before commenting. Thanks for introducing us to some fresh songs, Gene! 💕
