The Jam and the end of an era
Hello hello silver bloggers, music lovers and Hello hivers!
One of my favourite days because it means a post on Hive will be written by me, and I get to hear other music that Hivers and Hiveians enjoy. Well for the select band that participate in ttt anyway!

We are going back to my Silver Chronicles post of a few weeks ago My Soundtrack for the 80s my favourite decade
Quite a self-explanatory title and it is my inspiration for the next few posts on ttt!
The year is now 1982 and we are diving into a band that unfortunately ceased to be in that year!...
3 tunes from 1982 by The Jam.
It is Tuesday and that of course means that it's #ttt or #threetunetuesday and so it's time to share some tunes with you!
@ablaze started #ttt 263 weeks ago! Go check out what it is all about on his latest post The Scratch for Three Tune Tuesday - Week 262 - win some HBI
Do go support @ablaze as without him we would not have this mental fun musical activity that you can win HSBI from! I am happy to be one of the SIX sponsors and it is kinda fun checking out music from all over this global village of ours!
He has just released some winners posts, so go support those posts, he gets no support from any whales or even curation trails for these posts that he does. 262 weeks is an incredible amount of time, and I for one love that he runs this, and I appreciate the time and dedication that he puts in, when he could be doing something else.
Long live #ttt 😁🎼 and #threetunetuesday

The Band - The Jam
For this week’s ttt, we are jumping into the fluffing time machine and going back to 1982. As you will find out it was a bittersweet, monumental year for one of the greatest British bands to ever lace up a pair of bowling shoes and don a fishtail parka. I am of course talking about The Jam.
Fronted by Paul Weller alongside the rhythm section of Bruce Foxton on bass and Rick Buckler on drums, The Jam stood at the top of the Mod Revival movement.
And by 1982, they had evolved far beyond their initial raw punk roots and now were seamlessly injecting Northern Soul rhythms, heavy funk basslines, and sophisticated brass sections into their music.
And yet 1982 was the year they released their final studio album, The Gift. Weller shocked the music world and disbanded the group at the very height of their commercial success.
Here are three incredible tunes they gave us in that unforgettable final year of 1982.
Here are three awesome tunes from Dexys during that magical 1982 run.

Tune 1 - The Jam - Town Called Malice
Released as a double A-side, it instantly skyrocketed to Number 1 on the UK singles charts.
Awesome lyrics including ...
Stop apologising for the things you’ve never done
To either cut down beer or the kid's new gear is a big decision in a town called Malice

Tune 2 - The Jam - Precious
The funky companion to Town Called Malice, this was the other half of that massive double A-side single.
Totally different to the Eton Rifles era and you could tell this was the forefront to The Style Council era of a few months later.

Tune 3 - The Jam - The Bitterest Pill (I Ever Had To Swallow)
Released in September 1982 and got to number 2 in the UK singles chart. This pretty much signalled the end of an era and the end of The Jam.

So there you have it, 3 songs released in 1982 from The Jam this week with my 80s Soundtrack post as the inspiration!
Which was your favourite tune? Or have you never heard of them?

Note: The 3 YouTube videos that I have shared are not owned by me, I am simply spreading great music on Hive.
I wish that you all have a brilliant happy fun and terrific Tuesday until we meet again enjoy your tunes 🎶🎵🎶
Thanks for visiting!
The images and ramblings are from me, with some assistance from gemini on the verbage and the lead image, the mad Scotsman TengoLoTodo unless otherwise stated.
