Quilliun Legionary : The No-Nonsense Earth Tank
Greetings, Splinterlands warriors.
This time I want to share a story about a reward card that, honestly, I initially thought was just average… but quietly became a reliable pick in many battles. Its name is Quilliun Legionary.
Quilliun Legionary is a monster from the Earth element with the Rodentian bloodline. Just from its appearance, you can tell: this isn’t the type of monster that hides safely in the back. This is the kind that stands firm, takes hits, and… strikes back in a very unpleasant way.
What made me even more interested was when I finally managed to upgrade it to level 4. At this level, it gains an important additional ability: Void.
And from that moment on, Quilliun Legionary’s role instantly leveled up.
From the start, Quilliun already had:
- Close Range
- Thorns
And after upgrading:
- Void
These three abilities make it a very versatile unit. Put it in the front? Works. Put it in the back? Even better.
At the back:
It becomes an anti-sneak specialist.
Enemy sneak monsters come in confidently… and leave wounded thanks to Thorns. With its solid HP and defense, it’s like a door guard that never sleeps.
At the front:
It can still attack thanks to Close Range,
deal damage through Thorns,
and now, with Void, it can also withstand magic attacks.
Honestly, this is one of the most complete, low-maintenance tanks I’ve used.
Battle Moments:
I’ve had two memorable moments using Quilliun Legionary.
First, in a battle with:
- Mana cap: 14 (low mana)
- Ruleset: Unprotected & Counterspell
In this setup, there’s no armor, and magic becomes risky. My immediate thought: this is where Thorns shines.
I placed Quilliun Legionary as the main frontline.
And sure enough, enemies relying on physical attacks started falling one by one due to Thorns damage.
Second, in a much more “crowded” battle:
- Mana cap: 60
- Ruleset: Melee Mayhem & What Doesn’t Kill You
This wasn’t just a fight—it was chaos. All the heavy hitters entered the arena.
I placed Quilliun Legionary in the front position.
And even though it eventually fell in the later rounds, its contribution was significant. It absorbed tons of damage, reflected hits with Thorns, and opened the path for my team.

What makes Quilliun Legionary stand out the most is its flexibility.
It’s not dependent on a specific ruleset and doesn’t require complicated setups.
With its Rodentian bloodline, it becomes even more interesting when paired with Captain Frankie. The Inspire buff boosts its melee attack, making it more aggressive—not just defensive.
Not every strong card has to be expensive.
Sometimes, all it takes is time to truly understand how to use it.
For me, Quilliun Legionary is the kind of card that doesn’t say much—but always shows up when it matters.
Quick strategy:
- Use it in low mana battles with Unprotected
- Place it in the back to counter sneak
- Put it in front when you need a tank that can handle magic
- Combine with Captain Frankie for maximum impact
In the end, this card taught me a simple lesson:
don’t underestimate what looks ordinary—because that’s often where true strength is hidden.
