Hunting Rare Rewards Means Testing Your Patience, Too!

Greetings, Splinterlands warriors!

The Hallow’s Fall event began on October 13, 2026. However, skin rewards from Ultimate Chests only became available on October 15, coinciding with the start of the next season. So, as of October 21, these reward tracks are already part of the Halloween skin hunt.

If you buy skins from the Glint Shop, you simply calculate the cost and choose what you want. Hunting Haunted skins through chests is a different story. You need to understand the odds, prepare your resources, and accept the fact that the results may not always meet your expectations.

One thing that makes Haunted skins appealing is their limited supply. Each Haunted design has only 10 copies to be distributed through the event’s reward tracks.

Minor Chests feature eight Common and Rare designs, each with 10 copies. That makes a total of 80 Haunted skins. The chance of getting a skin from a Minor Chest is 1%.

The list includes Ballista Deadshot, Fenmoor Gorgon, Mana Warden, Wilhelmdale Deputy, Ignited Alchemist, Kobold of Burden, Scales of Justice, and Water Diviner.

Next, Major Chests offer seven Epic and Legendary designs, also with 10 copies each. That makes a total of 70 Haunted skins, with a 2% skin drop rate.

The characters in this group are Auroral Elemental, Cloveria Morth'lana, Voss, Azhar Ibn Sulaim, Filthy Scavenger, Gorvash the Pallid, and Mahkah Hemlig.

Meanwhile, Ultimate Chests have their own reward pool. Five characters each have a Spooky version with 100 copies and a Haunted version with 10 copies. The total number of skin rewards in this group reaches 550, with a 3% skin drop rate.

The five characters are Captain Frankie, Gramel the Hunger, Hanv, Loving the Moo, and Moribund Arrowbait.

If all skin rewards from chests and jackpots are counted, there are 900 limited-supply skin rewards available. This total includes 200 Spooky skins from Frontier jackpots, 80 Haunted skins from Minor Chests, 70 Haunted skins from Major Chests, and 550 skins from Ultimate Chests.

These numbers certainly make the hunt exciting. However, we need to distinguish the total supply from the odds of obtaining a skin. For example, a 1% chance does not mean that opening 100 chests will guarantee one skin. The outcome of each opening cannot be predicted that way.

Strategies Before the Hunt

In my opinion, the first step is to decide what you want. If you simply want a Halloween-themed appearance, Spooky skins in the Glint Shop may be easier to plan for because their prices are known. But if you are after rare Haunted skins, you need to be ready for uncertainty.

Second, do not spend all your resources just because the supply is limited. A small supply certainly makes a reward feel special, but that does not mean every player has to chase it.

Third, pay attention to the available reward tracks. Minor, Major, and Ultimate Chests have different reward pools and drop rates. Understanding these differences helps you make decisions based on your needs rather than simply following the excitement of other players.

I also see this skin hunt as a way for the community to share experiences. Players can discuss the rewards they receive, compare the tracks they choose, and remind one another not to misunderstand the drop rates.

Still, be wise about it. Do not let someone else's lucky story make you feel certain that you will get the same results.
