Today I recorded my silver order and I discuss & show the 3 Peace Dollars, Morgan & the two Maple Leaf years I was missing from collection. Check it out below!

Would you return the stained maple? Or just keep it given premium due to the low mintage in 1997 & 1998? Let me know!

Return it. That’s insane to accept it that way. If it literally showed images in different/better shape you must.

fuck this maple leaf 1997 is low mintage man.... even toned it has a value, you can even sell that for more that you paid! I have also some silver that has a lot of premium and even with milk spot I think i can still sell it with something over the spot for sure

I'm gonna hold onto it. I just bought another for $111.00 that's not stained. These have been going for $150 for years even when silver was $25. I'm not sure why it's suddenly lower (still double soot on average) but less than it's been. I didn't realize 1997 was even way lower than 1998 which was low so I'm keeping it. The stain sucks but I paid $88 so lower than it's going for. I'll just hold it and not buy from this seller again since they post stock images only.

I'm glad you managed to find the 1997 and 1998, the 1998 looks almost proof. I missed the local coin show of October 13th, i missed a lot of shows since I'm having constant health issues. If I had been consistent in attending the shows I would have eventually run into the 1997 and 1998 coins. I have the November 21st show penciled in but it will depend on how I feel. As for the stained 1997, I don't know if I'd return it. There are not a lot of Maple leaf collectors in Canada that are after this coin (Without checking the Charleton Coin rag.)

Year Description Mintage
1997 100,000
1998 Tiger Privy 25,000
1998 Titanic privy 25,000
1998 591,359
1998 RCMP Privy 25,000
1998 RCM 90th Y Privy 13,025

Wow! I hadn't realized 1997 was even that much lower mint than 1998 which is also below the norm. I think I'll hold onto the stained coin since I got for $88 and just bought another without stain for $111.00

Just so odd for a decade it's been going for $140 plus when silver was $20 spot price. But yeah I'm gonna hold it regardless id getting another for $33 more.

That information came from my copy of the 2013 North American Coin & Prices, 22nd edition, David Harper, Editor Krause Publications.

Oops, I have to revise my typo... fighting my right hand stiffness.

I think it depends on two factors: does it bother you enough, and do you want to spend the time/effort to get a replacement for it? Personally, from what you said in the video, you think its still a good price despite the stain so I wouldn't worry about it.
