Good evening, gentlemen, today I'm going to continue simulating all the games on the Hive blockchain. And this time, the next game on the list is Genesis League Sports, which, as you all know:

It's a game from the Genesis League Sports (GLS) platform, in collaboration with the Major League Soccer Players Association (MLSPA). Compete with your favorite MLSPA players in the form of NFTs, manage soccer teams, and earn rewards in this fast-paced tactical strategy game that uses NFTs, cryptocurrencies, and the Hive blockchain: Genesis League Goals!

If you want information about everything about the game, do as I did and read this post https://www.waivio.com/@gls.goals/genesis-league-goals-official-tournaments-framework which is actually better explained than on the game's website. Having said all this, I'm going to start the simulation. As you know, it's all about math, and I'm actually pretty good at numbers.

Game simulation with an investment of $500 and a duration of 6 months

To do this simulation, the first thing we need to know is the price of their tokens.

Current prices (on Hive):

  • GLX: 0.00111143 Hive

  • GLGT: 0.00105001 Hive

  • GLUSD: 0.12050001 Hive

  • Scout Pass: 0.06 GLUSD

  • HIVE/USD: 0.239716

We already have all the updated token prices, and now that we know all this, I'm going to start spending the $500. My ideal approach is to build a competitive team to play and generate daily income, with a strategic component in staking. It's clear that I'm not going for ultra-rare legendary cards, but I am going for utility/playability cards with good synergy for tournaments. For these, you have to be very familiar with the market, as we might catch a good opportunity to buy a specific card.

My selection for a functional team:

Position Type of letter Amount Because
GK Rare o Epic 1 .A good goalkeeper makes a difference; medium-high priority
DEF Rare + Common combinadas 3–4 You need solid defense but not all of it weird; combine.
MID Rare o Epic 3 Key in game control and assistance.
ATT Rare o Epic 2 Important for goals and performance rewards.
MGR Rare 1 Gives boosts to the team, improves performance.
CCH Common o Rare 1 Additional bonus in chemistry and morale.

Now that we know what cards we'll need, I'm not going to buy them on the market since I'd probably spend my budget just on cards. So, I'll scout with Scout Passes (the most viable method today) to get cheap cards and then upgrade my team. And cross my fingers to get the cards above.

Simulation of total expenditure (500 USD) would look something like this

Element Unit Price Suggested purchase Total Hive Cost Cost in USD approx.
Scout Pass (0.06 GLUSD) 0.06 × 0.1205 = 0.00723 Hive 200 1.446 Hive $0.35
GLUSD 0.1205 Hive 50 GLUSD 6.025 Hive $1.44
GLX (main token) 0.00111143 Hive 100,000 111.143 Hive $26.64
GLGT (governance) 0.00105001 Hive 50,000 52.50 Hive $12.58
Market/Card Reservation - - 500 Hive $119.86
Staking (GLX) - 200,000 GLX 222.29 Hive $53.28
Liquidity reserve/future funds - - 1192 Hive $285.85

Oh my goodness, there's so much crunching to do here. I didn't think this would be more complex than the previous post, but keep in mind there's a lot more data here.

Okay, let's continue. Now I'm going to explain how to make money, which is why there are so many numbers. We already know the investment, and now we need to know how to generate $. To do this, we have to do this:

1. Staking GLX

  • Invested amount: 200,000 GLX (for 222 Hive): this would give us a daily return of 0.08%–0.12%.

2. Game revenue

  • If we play the game in 3 tournaments per week, and with this, earn GLUSD or cards from playing, this would give us 3–5 GLUSD (with average returns).

3. Selling cards obtained through Scouting

  • With these 200 Scout Passes, we can get, if we're lucky, 20–30 playable cards, which we can sell for 1 Hive or more on the market after 5 or 10 draws.

So far, everything is going great, but you also have to consider that not everything will be beautiful and wonderful. You also have to consider the downside, so I generated two different scenarios:

Positive (optimistic) scenario:

  • GLX increases by 2x: from 0.00111143 → 0.0022 Hive

  • Your 200k GLX (staken or not) are worth 440 Hive = $105

  • Rare cards increase, and your collection goes from being worth 500 Hive to 700 Hive

  • Estimated asset gains: +200 Hive ≈ $48

Neutral or negative scenario:

  • Prices are stable or drop by 20%

  • GLX decreases, cards lose value → your asset value drops to 80% = $400

  • Even so, you would still have active staking and accumulated experience.

And finally, after so many numbers to get this right, I have the final result. I was surprised because it's not a game with immediate ROI. It's cumulative and has potential if the project grows or enters a competitive/rewarded stage (as happened with Splinterlands). But yes, let's hope that with the new updates everything I mentioned will change.

sources Estimated in USD (neutral)
Staking rewards $9.59
Income from gambling $2.77
Scout cards for sale $2.39
Asset revaluation $0 a +48 (según mercado)
Total estimated return $14 – $60+ (+retained assets)

As you can see, and as I said, it doesn't have a very high ROI, but that's fine. If it were higher, I'd be worried. Good morning, that's all for today. Tomorrow we'll run the Stakehouse Den simulation and see how profitable the casino is.
