So, THAT Just Happened...
Because this is my blog, and I can write whatever I want, I fell compelled to put a quick "bookmark" here to record that today — October 10th, 2025 — Hive (the token) experienced a complete collapse, or "flash crash," that sent the trading price briefly all the way down to somewhere under 8 cents, marking a new all-time low.
I am guessing that the decline was so steep because an initial downtrend — triggered primarily by Trump threatening China with more tariffs — started executing automated stop-loss orders in the market, setting off a whole cascade of selling that didn't stop until the price got so low that a bunch of fire sale buying started.
By the end of the day, the price recovered to 14 cents and change — almost double the low point - still a sharp decline from from where we started the day, around 18 cents.
In some way, maybe this was not a terrible thing — time will tell — in the sense that a lot of very old sell orders were likely flushed from the markets, perhaps removing some of the pervasive downward price pressures that plague this place.
I'm no expert, mind you... but I'd also like to think that more people might stop their eternal price watching, and just focus on content creation instead.
Regardless, this was surely a powerful reminder that this is a highly volatile circus we're part of, and one where you really can't "count on" anything to hold its value.

Exactly. I often wonder how many old sales orders on various stocks, crypto included that are never honoured by anybody. There must be millions (including some I created when trying to figure this stuff out!).
I come here for the content, curate the good stuff and hope whatever I write interests other people.
At the end of the day, that’s where the true value lies.
I never really got into the whole trading thing. More of a "buy and hold as long as the project seems viable" sort of person.
Thankfully, we can all find what holds the most value to us... for me, content and community.
keep creating and consuming the content , hive is just a little bonus on top of that .
That's pretty much how I view it, as a bonus. It has helped buy a new set of tires, and pay some taxes... and I am grateful. But it's not my JOB!
