National Cartoonist Day is celebrated annually on May 5th. It is a day to pay tribute to cartoonists of the past who created classic comic strips, as well as to the cartoonists of today who work hard to create the comic strips we enjoy.

El Día Nacional del Caricaturista se celebra anualmente el 5 de mayo . Es un día para rendir homenaje a los caricaturistas del pasado que crearon tiras cómicas clásicas, así como a los caricaturistas del presente que trabajan arduamente para crear las tiras cómicas que disfrutamos hoy.

Although some consider comic strips mere pastimes, they are actually an extremely important medium that not only entertains us but also tells meaningful stories. This day pays tribute to the cartoonists who create great works of art in just three or four panels. This holiday was created in 1990 by the National Cartoonists Society to honor those who do the hard work of drawing cartoons. It was also conceived as a day to honor cartoonists of the past.
