HKZ. Let's keep buzzing!

Good afternoon buzzers! So this morning, we officially launched operation HKZ (Hive: Kepithor: Zealy)

The premise was simple: onboard users from Hive to Kepithor Games and from Kepithor Games to Hive! If this is successful, we can continue to snowball the effect, bringing in new members to both sides!

We have a couple of caveats to address from our HKZ Launch post. We've done the basics, signing up for an account, so what's next?

Well, the easiest step is clicking the link in the signup email you got from Ececny! Let's click the link through and see what happens.

Ok, the first thing I did was activate dark mode! (Three little lines at top left)

Things look rather.. empty..

So what now? It's time to set up your account!

Click on the top right little circle, with the ececny love heart!

Click 'Settings' and let's get started!

We started from nothing, now we're here!

This is a great time to explain a little more about Hive. Of course, you should continue to explore Hive on your own. The basics: Hive is a blockchain. We're going to focus on the social aspects, utilising the 'Free Transactions' to build our community and grow the HKZ movement!

Every account has POWER on Hive!

This is the key component: to truly experience the benefits of Hive, you need to gain more power. You can do this by powering up Hive tokens. The easiest way to get these is 'simpleswap', swapping from your favourite currency to Hive tokens. Send them to your easily readable Hive wallet (otherwise known as your Hive username).

Head over to your 'wallet' to power up your Hive tokens for more POWER!

We used some 'RC', which is the Resource Credits our account provides based on our HP. So even with 0 Hive Power, we have a little ability to make some transactions on the chain!

i'll add a quest in our Zealy to earn a little 'Delegation' to get you started if you're a new Hive user! However your base RC will allow you to edit your profile and make an introduction post!

We've given Ecency some time, refreshed our profile page and boom! We're officially Hivians!

It's time to explore further, check the 'discover' tab, or create your first piece of content!

It's refreshing to start from scratch and walk through the first steps on Hive. Many new users complain it's complex and convoluted, so far it seems pretty easy (I guess I have a little 'inside knowledge' from using Hive for many years). Ecency has a cool little guide when you first click to create a post (use the little pencil top right of the screen)

I'm going to create an introduction post on Hive, using the tag # IntroduceYourself. Since we're going to be calling this operation HKZ, we'll add #HKZ too!

For Introduction posts on Hive, it's acceptable to use other tags like #Gems and #newusers. I'd also suggest using tags for some 'general' communities on Hive like #BBH #SlothBuzz and #Cent plus some gaming specific tags #hivegaming and #thgaming.

You add your tags after completing your draft on ecency and clicking 'continue'. (A helpful thing to learn as a 'new user'!)

You can also add a community to post into. I'll be using the SlothBuzz community, but your tags are the primary key to exposure on Hive.

This should open your initial post to more eyes on Hive and maybe even earn your first few upvotes!

As you can see, posting the post once allows it to be found on multiple 'frontends' on Hive. By using specific tags, it can also be found on some smaller niche sites known as 'outposts', showing Hive content like Sloth.Buzz and BBH outpost

This also allows you to earn some 'Hive-Engine' tokens, the layer 2 token platform on Hive, further increasing the POB model, which allows you to earn for creating and curating content! We'll dive into this in another post if we find a load of new users joining!
