Voucher Cards Just Got More Exciting!

Hello, Splinterlands warriors!

A few years ago, if someone had asked me what Vouchers were for in Splinterlands, I probably would have answered, "They're used to buy certain cards." That answer wasn't wrong, but it no longer tells the whole story. After reading about the release of the three newest Voucher Cards, arriving on June 30, 2026, I realized that Vouchers have evolved into much more than just a payment method. They're gradually becoming tickets to a variety of exciting opportunities.

At first, I was mainly interested in the three new cards themselves: Krowl Brightbane, Vethos Spineclaw, and Taark Nightbloom. But the more I read through the announcement, the more my attention shifted toward the new distribution system.

That's when I felt Splinterlands was trying something completely different.

Back in the day, my mindset whenever a new card was released was pretty simple. If I had enough tokens, I'd buy it. If not, I'd just wait for the market price to come down.

Now, the story has changed.

Buying a Voucher Card is no longer just about getting a Regular Foil. It also gives players a chance to obtain a Gold Foil, a Black Foil, and even participate in the Gold Arcane Fortune Draw and the Black Arcane Auction.

The moment I understood that, my first thought was, "Wow... buying a card now feels like opening several doors at once."

The feature I like the most is the Gold Arcane Fortune Draw.

The concept is simple but incredibly appealing.

Every player who joins the Fortune Draw is guaranteed to receive one Regular Foil copy of the featured card. That means even if you don't win the grand prize—the Gold Arcane version—you still walk away with something valuable.

I really appreciate this approach because it ensures that every participant feels their effort has value.

Then comes the part that will undoubtedly make collectors' hearts race: the Black Arcane Auction.

While there are still dozens of Gold Arcane copies available, Black Arcane cards are intentionally made extraordinarily rare.

Just imagine.

Krowl Brightbane has only 10 Black Arcane copies.

Vethos Spineclaw has only 5 Black Arcane copies.

Meanwhile, Taark Nightbloom has just 3 Black Arcane copies available for the entire player base worldwide.

Three.

That's fewer than the fingers on both of your hands.

I can already imagine how intense those auctions will be. Major collectors will probably battle fiercely for ownership, while players like me may simply enjoy watching the spectacle and hope that one day we'll have the opportunity to compete as well.

Another thing I found interesting is that Splinterlands isn't releasing everything at once.

The Regular Foil sale begins on June 30, 2026.

The Gold Arcane cards are distributed through the Fortune Draw a few weeks later.

Finally, the Black Arcane cards will be auctioned from late August into September.

Personally, I think this staggered release schedule is a smart decision.

As a player, it gives me time to build a strategy.

Should I spend my Vouchers immediately?

Would it be wiser to save them for an Epic card instead?

Or should I prepare Fortune Tickets in hopes of winning a Gold Arcane?

Questions like these make the in-game economy feel much more dynamic.

From my perspective, the Voucher system now successfully brings together three different types of players.

Competitive players chase powerful cards.

Collectors pursue rarity.

Investors look at long-term value.

Each group now has its own path to follow.

To me, that's a much more mature system than the straightforward approach we had before.

For newer players, terms like Gold Arcane, Black Arcane, Fortune Draw, and Auction may sound overwhelming at first.

As for me, I don't plan to spend all of my Vouchers on day one.

I'd rather watch how prices develop, study the emerging meta, and then decide which cards truly deserve a place in my collection as long-term investments.

Experience has taught me that patience often leads to better decisions than buying into the excitement of launch day.

One more thing that makes me optimistic is the planned release of Voucher Card Skins at the end of the following month.

That means the journey of these three new cards doesn't end with their initial release. There's still another layer of collectibility waiting to give collectors even more reasons to keep hunting.

Because in Splinterlands, sometimes a single Voucher spent at exactly the right moment can lead you to a card that eventually becomes the crown jewel of your collection.

And who knows? Maybe one day your name will appear as the owner of one of the incredibly rare Black Arcane cards—of which only a handful exist across all of Praetoria.
