Venari Bonesmith Shines in the Heat of Brawl!
![]()
Greetings, Splinterlands warriors!
This time, I want to share a Brawl battle that I think is worth discussing. It featured three rulesets: Dragon Breath, Fog of War, and Taking Sides. This combination forced me to think carefully about my lineup, especially since the Burning effect could gradually eat away at my monsters’ Health throughout the battle.
With Death and Dragon as my available Splinters, I ultimately chose Death. My team consisted of Ujurak Brave, Dark Arborist, Usut, Venari Bonesmith, and Arachne Weaver.
I placed Ujurak Brave in the front because of his melee attack, substantial Health, and Immunity, which protects him from debuffs. Behind him, I relied on Dark Arborist and its Magic Reflect ability. Then there was Usut, who has Bloodlust and can become increasingly powerful after defeating an opponent.

For Venari Bonesmith, I relied on the combination of Life Leech and Poison. Meanwhile, Arachne Weaver served as support, helping restore my monsters’ Health through its healing ability. I built this lineup so my team could not only deal damage but also survive a prolonged battle.
The Tank Falls, and Venari Begins to Shine
My opponent turned out to have a very similar strategy. They relied on a tank in the front and monsters with heavy attacks, including Usut and Djinn Murat. So, from the start, I knew this battle wouldn’t be easy.
In the first round, both tanks took a barrage of attacks. Fortunately, Ujurak Brave managed to hold on thanks to Arachne Weaver’s healing support whenever his condition started looking critical.

By the second round, my opponent’s tank had fallen, while my Ujurak Brave was still standing. This gave me a pretty significant advantage.
However, victory was far from guaranteed. In the fourth round, Dark Arborist was finally eliminated after being hit by the Burning effect. I had lost another team member, and the battle was becoming increasingly tense.

The fifth round brought another surprise. Djinn Murat managed to take out Usut with a brutal attack empowered by Giant Killer. Losing Usut definitely hurt because I had hoped his Bloodlust ability would become my main weapon.
But as it turned out, the real star emerged later.

In the seventh round, Venari Bonesmith began to show what it could do. Life Leech increased its Max Health whenever it dealt damage, while Arachne Weaver continued helping it stay alive. This combination allowed Venari to survive and eliminate the three remaining enemy monsters.
In the end, victory was mine!

For me, the biggest lesson from this Brawl is not to rely too quickly on a single monster to decide the outcome. Usut did fall, but Venari Bonesmith stepped up and took on a crucial role at just the right moment.
In rulesets that apply constant pressure like this one, combine monsters that can survive, deal damage, and sustain themselves. Sometimes, a card that initially looks like a supporting player turns out to be the one that secures victory in the end.
