Turning Glint into Real Power

Hello, Splinterlands warriors 👋
The season has changed once again, and as always there’s one moment I always look forward to at the end of every season: counting the results of the grind and deciding the fate of the Glint I’ve collected over two full weeks of battles.

For those who might be new, Glint can be considered the main reward for consistent play. Wins, losses, rating ups and downs—all of it feels more meaningful because at the end of the season, Glint can be converted into real ammunition to strengthen your card collection. By the end of this season, I managed to collect 24k Glint, earned from battles I squeezed in between daily routines. It wasn’t always ideal—sometimes playing while tired, sometimes having to swallow bitter defeats—but that’s just the rhythm of this season.

Interestingly, this time I didn’t open any chests at all. It was a conscious decision, because I felt my card collection needed a more direct boost. So all of this Glint was fully redirected to drawing cards through common and rare draws.

My first choice was, of course, the rare draw. I opened 12 rare draws, spending 18k Glint. Nervous? Absolutely. Because at this point, we’re always hoping to get cards that don’t just “add to the collection,” but also have a real impact on the battlefield.

And the results were quite satisfying.

The card GROVE DOOMBLADE could finally be upgraded in level, which immediately made me rethink some old formations. Then there was SURGEHAMMER, a new card that instantly completed my water-element collection—honestly, one of those small moments that makes you smile to yourself. On top of that, SWAMPWROUGHT showed up, enriching my options in the earth element. Not a flashy haul, but solid and very relevant to my current needs.

With the remaining Glint, I moved on to the common draw. In total, it was enough to open 20 cards, and this is where a small surprise appeared.

There was 1 gold card, STONEBIND MATRON, which immediately stole the spotlight. Besides that, several cards leveled up thanks to the duplicates I pulled, such as PALIMPSEST PROPHET, HUSK THE HUNTER, and THORNMAW BERSERKER. Personally, level upgrades like these often feel more impactful than simply getting new cards.

From here, the most interesting part is the potential for new strategies. These upgrades open room for experimentation—whether in specific rulesets or just trying combinations that previously felt a bit awkward. It may not lead to instant big wins, but that process of experimenting is exactly what keeps Splinterlands alive and exciting.

For players, I believe the key to growth lies in gradually completing your collection, focusing on frequently used cards, and not hesitating to ask questions or learn from the community. There are many small insights that may seem trivial, but have a big impact in the long run.

This season’s final result may not be the most spectacular, but it feels right on target. The strategy to take away from moments like this is: know your collection’s needs, don’t open blindly, and use Glint to strengthen your team’s foundation. Because in Splinterlands, consistency and small decisions often matter more than momentary luck.
