Stable SPS, a Moving Guild, and One Echoing Defeat

Hello, Splinterlands warriors.
This week feels a little different. The price of SPS has held steady at the same level for several days—like a kite staying aloft in a favorable wind—and at the same time, the first two weeks of 2025 have slipped by just like that. Amid a warming market atmosphere and news about the upcoming Jackpot Cards update from Splinterlands, our guild—ClaNFT—once again descended into the BRAWL arena.
As usual, I was assigned to Fray 12. This post already feels like a rented house to me—not luxurious, but I know every corner by heart. In this fray, things were still fairly quiet.

Out of 10 battle slots, only 8 were filled—the remaining two were empty, like chairs in a classroom during the last period. I personally played 6 battles, and from those, I lost 3. The rest gave me 5 wins—some earned through sweat, others simply gifts from those empty seats.

Overall, ClaNFT’s team performance deserves a thumbs-up. We recorded 84 Wins and 44 Losses, collected 252 points, and finished in third place. The rewards? Not extravagant, but enough to bring a smile:
52 Crowns,
2,600 Merits for each fully participating member,
and 22,139 staked SPS for players who own a Spellbook.
For a BRAWL, this is a healthy result. Not an instant fortune, but certainly not going home empty-handed.
One Loss That Still Echoes
Of my three losses, one deserves a special note in the book of bitter memories. I was crushed by Countess Sinash. Yes—crushed. That word is not an exaggeration. I tried to break through the opponent’s defenses with Eternan Brune, hoping their shields would fall one by one. But the enemy’s Fire team turned out to be far more brutal than expected. On top of that, Conqueror Jacek, with his random attacks, turned my plan into a soaked map—completely unreadable.

It turned out the fire troops on the other side were more stubborn than I was. Every time I felt I was starting to gain the upper hand, one random strike from Jacek would land, and… well, like getting hit by a firecracker in the middle of a crowd. My formation collapsed faster than expected.
If you want to revisit that old wound, the battle is here:
Not every loss needs to be forgotten. Some should be remembered—so we know where we were too confident, and where we should have been more cautious.
As for the Gladius Case—now this is the part that makes me smile to myself. I’ve accumulated enough Merits for 5 Gladius Cases. I’m not opening them yet. I’m saving them. Like waiting for fireworks on New Year’s Eve. Rumor has it, I’ll open them tomorrow, and I’ll share the results in a post. Don’t miss it—who knows, there might be a card that changes the fate of the next fray.
A short piece of advice from me: don’t play alone, read the ruleset carefully, and if possible, gather your Gladius Cases before opening them—because patience in Splinterlands is often rewarded with surprises.
See you in the arena. May SPS remain friendly, and may Countess Sinash not visit fray 12 too often.
