Preparing for the New Era of Exemplar in Splinterlands

Hello, Splinterlands warriors.
Splinterlands is a game that is constantly evolving. And sometimes, those changes arrive quietly before eventually reshaping how we play altogether.
That’s exactly what I felt when I read the announcement for the Summer Fun event.
At first, my attention was drawn to the Gift Boxes, skins, and various cosmetic rewards that bring a lively summer atmosphere to Praetoria. But after reading more carefully, I discovered two things that I believe are far more important for the future of the game.
Energy Bomb and GLINT.
On paper, both may seem simple. However, I feel these two features actually serve as the foundation for a much bigger transformation that the Splinterlands team is preparing.
When Energy Becomes a Valuable Resource
As a player who logs into Splinterlands almost every day, I know exactly how it feels to run out of energy at the worst possible moment.

It usually happens when you’re facing the right opponents, riding a winning streak, or chasing a target near the end of the season.
And as if governed by an unwritten law of nature, energy always runs out when you need it the most.
That’s why when I saw the introduction of Energy Bomb, I was immediately interested.
Its function is simple.
One Energy Bomb restores 5 Energy at once for both Modern and Wild modes.
At a glance, it might not seem like a big deal.
But after thinking about it more deeply, this is actually one of the most useful utility items introduced in Splinterlands in quite some time.
Because Energy Bomb gives players something they previously didn’t have: flexibility.
We don’t have to use it immediately. We can save it. We can wait for the right moment.
And in a strategy game, having a reserve resource to use at the perfect time is often more valuable than a large reward that disappears instantly.
GLINT Suddenly Becomes More Important
If Energy Bomb is the fuel, then GLINT is the reason to gather it.
Summer Fun Gift Boxes offer a significant amount of GLINT—ranging from 10,000 GLINT in the cheapest box to hundreds of thousands in premium ones.

When I first saw those numbers, I thought the Splinterlands team was being extremely generous.
But then I read a section that made everything click.
There was a major announcement that many players might have overlooked:
A new modifier is coming soon that will allow players to use their customized Exemplars directly in battle.
And that’s when I started to see the bigger picture.
Exemplar Is No Longer Just for Display
Up until now, I’ve seen Exemplar as something interesting to develop, but not yet a core part of my battle strategy.
I’ve been collecting materials. Upgrading abilities.
But honestly, it always felt like a project for the future.
Now, that future is getting closer.
When this new modifier goes live, Exemplar will no longer be just a collection piece or a side project.
It will enter the arena. It will fight. It will become part of real strategy.
And when that happens, the demand for GLINT will naturally increase.
Because every player will want to bring the best Exemplar they can build.
The Strategy I’m Taking
After reviewing the entire Summer Fun event, I decided to adjust my approach slightly.
First, I now treat GLINT as a medium-term asset, not just a currency to spend immediately.
Second, I save Energy Bombs for critical moments—like the end of the season, special events, or when chasing specific targets.
Third, I’m paying more attention to Exemplar development because I believe this feature will have a major impact on the meta in the future.
Maybe not instantly.
But gradually.
And usually, the changes that come slowly are the ones that last the longest.
Closing
For me, Summer Fun isn’t just about summer vibes, cute skins, or exciting rewards. Behind all the celebration, I see a clear message from the Splinterlands team.
They are preparing players for the next phase. Energy Bomb helps us fight longer. GLINT helps us grow further. And Exemplar gives meaning to why all that preparation matters.
Because often, the biggest advantage in Splinterlands doesn’t come from what we gain right now—but from what we prepare before others even realize it.
And I feel that the Exemplar era is getting closer.
