Perfect Brawl in Fray 12, But ClaNFT Had to Settle for Fourth Place

avatar

Greetings, Splinterlands warriors!

In this post, I’d like to share the story of my latest Brawl results that I just went through with the ClaNFT guild. Recently, Splinterlands has been quite busy introducing various new features and exciting announcements. Some of them I’ve even discussed in previous posts. It feels like the developers are really trying to keep the game fresh amid the increasingly crowded blockchain gaming scene.

And somehow, that positive energy seemed to carry over into my gameplay this week.

If in Modern mode some time ago I finally managed to break into the Gold League after being stuck in Silver for quite a while, then this Brawl result brought a similar sense of satisfaction. Not because our guild became champions, but because for the first time in a long while, I managed to complete my matches in Fray 12 without a single loss.

As usual, my teammates in ClaNFT once again entrusted me with Fray 12. It almost feels like a permanent address at this point. If there’s a letter from Brawl, it’s definitely sent to Fray 12 under my name.

In this Brawl, there were actually seven matches that I had to go through. Initially, I received one automatic win because one of the opposing guilds didn’t fill their slot. During the Brawl, it turned out there were two more opponents who didn’t submit their teams, so those matches ended with a fled status.

The rest, I had to fight for myself.

And this is the part that made me quite happy.

The four matches that were actually played, I managed to win through strategies and team selections that, in my opinion, went exactly as planned. No bad surprises, no misplacement of monsters that I usually only realize after the match ends. Everything felt smooth.

The final result was 8 wins and 0 losses.

Honestly, seeing that number made me smile quite wide.

Unfortunately, Brawl is a team game. And like football, sometimes a striker can score a hat-trick, but the team still fails to become champions.

Even though I swept all my matches, it was only enough to bring ClaNFT to fourth place. Overall, our guild collected 222 points with 74 wins.

The rewards we received were:

  • 2,450 Merits for each member who fully participated
  • 20,413 SPS in the form of staked SPS for players who own a Spellbook

Not a bad result at all. Still, after seeing my perfect personal record, I did hope the guild could place a bit higher.

But that’s Brawl. Sometimes you play very well, but your opponents play even better.

A Battle That Taught Patience

Out of all the matches I played, there was one duel that I think is worth discussing.

This battle featured two teams that both relied on magic attacks. My opponent used the Earth element with Archon Immortalis, a figure well known for being troublesome for magic users because he grants Void to his team.

As if that wasn’t enough, the opponent also brought Goblin Psychic as their main healer.

Seeing that situation, I chose a rather extreme defensive strategy.

I placed Iziar on the front line as a Taunt monster that also has Void. The goal was simple: draw all enemy attacks while reducing incoming magic damage.

But I knew one healer wouldn’t be enough.

So I prepared three sources of healing at once. One healer focused on keeping the front line alive, while the other two were tasked with sustaining the backline.

The result felt like a battle of endurance.

Each round moved slowly. Monsters fell one by one. Heal was answered with heal. Void met Void. It felt like two stubborn boxers refusing to go down.

The battle lasted until round seven before I finally secured the victory.

For me, the biggest lesson was that not every match needs to be won with overwhelming offense. Sometimes patience, sustain, and defensive strength are the true keys to victory.

Time to Open 10 Gladius Cases

There’s one piece of news that excites me even more than this Brawl result.

After saving for so long, my Merits have finally surpassed 20,000. That means the long-awaited goal has finally been achieved. I now have enough Merits to open 10 Gladius Cases at once.

Honestly, I can’t wait to see what cards I’ll get. Will there be a legendary? Will there be duplicates I can immediately level up?

One thing’s for sure, I’ll share the pack opening results in my next post. So stay tuned.

See you in the next arena, and may victory always be on your side.
