Hope Behind the End-of-Season Major Chest

Hello Splinterlands warriors, how are you? This season has finally come to an end. Looking back at my journey, it felt like riding a roller coaster. There were moments when victories came in streaks, and there were also times when the strategies I had prepared fell apart against better-prepared opponents. But that’s exactly what makes the journey in Splinterlands so exciting.

One thing that really stood out this season was the introduction of the new Summer Fun feature. Maybe it’s just my feeling, or maybe it’s real, but this feature seems to have brought fresh energy to the community. The arena feels more alive, players are more active in discussions, and the competitive atmosphere feels more enjoyable compared to previous seasons.

Unfortunately, this time I didn’t manage to make it into the top 100 of the leaderboard. There’s definitely a bit of disappointment, especially after having reached that position in previous seasons. But that’s the nature of the game. Sometimes we’re on top, and sometimes we have to accept results that fall short of expectations.

Even so, my efforts throughout the season still produced something quite satisfying. After spending some of my Glint mid-season, I still managed to collect around 80,000 Glint by the end.

And as always, when a large amount of Glint has been collected, the classic question arises: what should I spend it on?

This time, I decided to use 50,000 Glint to open Major Chests. It’s been a while since I last tried my luck there. Sometimes buying cards directly feels more effective, but every now and then I still enjoy the thrill of opening chests and hoping for a surprise inside.

And so, the curious moment began.

One by one, I opened the chests. Each one carried a small hope. Maybe this time there would be a rare card. Maybe a reward worth far more than the Glint I spent. Or maybe not.

And as it turned out, the results weren’t as spectacular as I had imagined.

There was no legendary card that made me jump out of my chair. No big surprise that instantly transformed my collection. But that doesn’t mean the results were entirely disappointing.

From the Major Chest openings, I obtained several cards, entries, and additional Merits, which are quite useful. But the most eye-catching reward was a gold card from the Earth element: Stonebind Matron.

Getting a gold card always brings its own kind of excitement. Even if it doesn’t drastically change my strategy, it’s still satisfying to see that golden glow appear among the rewards. At the very least, it made this opening session feel special.

In addition, the extra Merits I earned are quite meaningful. Little by little, my Merits savings are now approaching 10,000 Merits, which means I’ll soon be able to purchase 5 Gladius Cases at once. For me, that’s actually a hidden reward worth appreciating from this Major Chest opening.

I still have around 30,000 Glint left unused. I intentionally saved it because I have another goal in mind: upgrading my Avatar and Exemplar.

The reason is simple. Based on circulating information, there will be a new feature that allows Exemplars to be used in battle. If that’s true, then having better Exemplars could become an important investment for my account’s future. That’s why I’ve chosen to be patient and not spend all my remaining Glint right away.

From this season’s experience, I’ve once again learned that account growth doesn’t always come from big rewards or legendary cards. Sometimes, it comes from small, consistent gains: a few extra BCX, some Merits, a couple of gold cards, and a collection that slowly becomes more complete.

For new players, I think this is an important lesson. Building a collection isn’t just about owning powerful cards. The more complete your collection, the more strategies you can use when facing different rulesets. And often, victory comes from adaptability—not just from having one expensive card.

This season, I’m starting again from Silver II, which is a comfortable position to climb back toward Gold in the next season. My goals remain the same: strengthen my collection, prepare my Exemplars, and keep earning Glint more efficiently.

Even though this Major Chest opening didn’t bring a huge surprise, I still feel satisfied. There’s a gold card, extra Merits, and preparation for upcoming features.

Now it’s time to return to the arena, gather more Glint, and wait for the next story to unfold in the new season.
