Chasing 250 Survival Battles: A Journey Still Waiting on the Promised Glint
![]()
Greetings, Splinterlands warriors!
After wrapping up the Brawl that I talked about in my previous post, my journey this season was far from over. In fact, the most exhausting part came from the battle modes that I had to grind through almost every single day. Normally, I focus on climbing rating or farming Glint, but last season I set myself a much more specific goal: completing 250 battles in Survival mode.
That target was more than just a number. Behind it was the hope of earning the promised 250,000 Glint reward for players who met the requirements. The first time I read the announcement, I immediately thought, "Alright, this is a challenge worth taking on."
And so, the journey began.
Almost every day I logged into Splinterlands, checked which cards were ready for battle, and carefully built lineup after lineup. Survival mode feels very different from Modern. Every decision carries more weight because defeated cards must wait before they can be used again. Fortunately, this season included the -99% Cooldown Reduction bonus, making card revivals much easier than they normally would be.

Even so, reaching more than two hundred and fifty battles was no easy task.
Some days I only had time to squeeze in a handful of matches because of real-life responsibilities. Other days I intentionally stayed in front of the screen much longer just to chip away at the remaining battles. Sometimes I enjoyed winning streaks, while other times I had to swallow several losses in a row. That's simply life as a Splinterlands player. It isn't always smooth sailing, but that's exactly what makes the journey worth telling.
Thankfully, all that effort eventually paid off.
I managed to complete 257 Survival battles with a 62.79% win rate. That performance earned me 27th place on the leaderboard and rewarded me with approximately 30,000 Glint.
For me, that achievement was already something to be proud of. It wasn't just about the Glint I earned, but about finally accomplishing the personal goal I had set at the beginning of the season.

My journey in Modern was equally satisfying.
I completed more than 100 battles, maintained a solid 50% win rate, and secured a spot on the leaderboard. From Modern alone, I earned around 35,000 Glint.
Meanwhile, my experience in Frontier served as a reminder that you can't always chase every goal at the same time. I did spend some time playing there, but I wasn't able to complete 100 battles, so I missed the leaderboard requirements.
And that's okay.
Sometimes the best strategy isn't trying to win everything—it's choosing the battlefield where you can perform at your best.
What continues to intrigue me isn't the leaderboard result itself.
I fulfilled the requirements announced by the Splinterlands team:
- 250,000 Glint for players who completed 250 Survival battles, maintained at least a 50% win rate, and submitted feedback.
- 100,000 Glint for players who completed 250 battles and submitted feedback even with a win rate below 50%, subject to review.
I completed more than 250 battles, maintained a win rate above 50%, and also submitted the required survey.

However, as of the time of writing, I still haven't received the promised Glint bonus.
Of course, I hope that promise will be fulfilled soon. It's not only because 250,000 Glint is a substantial reward, but because grinding through 257 Survival battles demanded a significant investment of both time and effort. I had to revive my cards over and over again just to keep pushing toward that milestone.
If the bonus is eventually distributed, it will make last season's journey feel truly complete.
One thing this season reinforced for me is that building a strong card collection is a long-term investment. The more complete your collection becomes, the easier it is to assemble competitive lineups when some of your cards are on cooldown or temporarily unavailable. That advantage is especially noticeable in Survival mode.
If someone asked me how I would rate last season, I'd say it was one of my more successful seasons.
The two modes I focused on both landed me on the leaderboard. I accomplished my goal of completing 250 Survival battles. My win rate stayed comfortably above the required threshold. Now there's only one thing left that I'm still waiting for: the promised Glint bonus.
For the current season, my strategy won't change much. I'll continue focusing on Survival and Modern while steadily expanding my card collection to increase my lineup options. The more battle-ready cards I have available, the easier future seasons will become.
In the end, I've learned that not every reward in Splinterlands arrives immediately. Some are granted the moment a battle ends, while others require a little more patience. What truly matters is that every battle adds experience, every season teaches something new, and every challenge helps both our card collection—and our skills as players—grow little by little.
