A Tight Brawl, More SPS, and the Dream of Opening 10 Gladius Cases Is Getting Closer

Hello, fellow Splinterlands warriors!
I hope you're all still enjoying the battles. Lately, I've started noticing that several crypto assets are finally showing signs of life again. Charts that had been sluggish for weeks are slowly climbing back up. It's refreshing to see the market regaining some momentum. Hopefully, HIVE will soon catch the same wave and enjoy its own rally.
While waiting for the crypto charts to smile again, I certainly didn't miss one event I always look forward to every week: Brawl.
For those of you who are new to Splinterlands, Brawl is a guild-versus-guild competition where each member fights in their assigned fray. This is where strategy is truly put to the test. You're not only fighting for your own victories, but also for your guild's reputation. Winning a single battle may seem small, but when every member contributes, those victories can lift the entire guild onto the podium.
As usual, I was once again assigned to defend Fray 12.
I've honestly lost count of how many times I've been placed in this fray. It feels like being an employee whose desk never gets moved. I'm completely familiar with the environment, yet every Brawl still brings opponents with brand-new surprises.

This time, I had seven active battles to play. On top of that, I received three automatic victories because several opposing guilds left their slots empty. Free wins are certainly nice, but I still believe the most satisfying victories are the ones earned through strategic duels in the arena.
Out of the seven battles I actually played, I managed to win four while dropping the remaining three. That brought my overall contribution to six wins and three losses, worth 18 points for ClaNFT Guild.
Looking at those numbers, I can't say I'm completely satisfied. There were several decisions I could have made better. A couple of matches felt winnable if I had read my opponents' strategies more carefully. But that's Splinterlands for you. Sometimes you learn far more from one defeat than from three victories.
What kept my spirits high was our guild's overall performance.
Despite what felt like a fiercely competitive Brawl, ClaNFT finished in second place. For me, that's still an achievement worth celebrating. It shows that our teamwork remains strong, even when everyone is facing tough opponents.

As rewards for our collective effort, the guild earned 48 Crowns. Every fully participating member received 2,400 Merits, while players with a Spellbook also earned an additional 26.16 SPS, automatically staked.
SPS may accumulate little by little, but that's exactly what I enjoy about blockchain games like Splinterlands. It's not always about receiving a massive reward in a single day—it's about steadily growing your assets over time.
There was another reason I felt excited after this Brawl ended.
My Merits savings have now reached 17,181.
That means my long-term goal is getting closer. I only need a little more to reach 20,000 Merits, enough to open 10 Gladius Cases all at once. It's definitely tempting to spend a few Merits now and open some packs immediately. But I've decided to stay patient. If everything goes according to plan, just one more Brawl—or perhaps a few extra Merits from seasonal chest rewards—should be enough to hit that milestone.

Sometimes in Splinterlands, patience is part of the strategy. Waiting a few extra days can be far more rewarding than rushing into it.
This week's Brawl also reminded me that joining a guild isn't just about farming Merits or SPS. The most valuable part is the opportunity to learn together. Watching guildmates' strategies, discussing monster lineups, and exchanging experiences about different rulesets often gives me ideas I would never have discovered on my own.
This certainly wasn't my strongest individual Brawl performance. I still have three losses to review and learn from. Even so, I'm happy that I was able to help ClaNFT secure second place and bring home some worthwhile rewards.
For now, my focus is simple: keep improving my strategies, keep collecting Merits, and wait for the perfect moment to open 10 Gladius Cases in one go. Hopefully, a little luck will be on my side when that day finally arrives.
Until the next Brawl report, keep fighting, keep learning from every battle, and never be afraid of losing. In Splinterlands, every defeat you take the time to understand often becomes the shortcut to your next victory.
