250,000 Glint, and the Lesson That Sometimes Flying Decides Your Fate
Greetings, Splinterlands warriors!
Once again, it's time for my weekly Brawl report with the amazing ClaNFT family. This week has been quite enjoyable—not only because another Brawl has come to an end with a respectable result, but also because something I've been waiting for finally happened.
After spending quite some time grinding through Survival Mode, the 250,000 Glint reward for reaching 250 battles officially landed in my account. Honestly, watching my Glint balance jump by that much felt like receiving an unexpected holiday bonus. The difference is that holiday bonuses usually disappear into household expenses, while this Glint already has a clear purpose: strengthening my card collection and upgrading my Exemplar cards so they'll be even more prepared for every game mode ahead.
But upgrading my collection can wait.
Today, I want to talk about Brawl.
And, as usual, I was once again entrusted with defending Fray 12.
I'm starting to wonder if my name has been permanently engraved there. Every Brawl, it feels like my seat has already been reserved. Fortunately, I don't mind at all. In fact, playing Fray 12 so often has helped me recognize the patterns and strategies that regularly appear in this bracket.
This week's Brawl felt a little quieter than usual.
Four opponent slots were left empty because several guilds didn't fill their frays, giving me four automatic victories. That left me with four actual battles to fight.
And that's where the real story begins.
Out of those four matches, I managed to win two while conceding the other two to my opponents. Altogether, my final record became 6 wins and 2 losses, contributing 18 points to ClaNFT Guild.
It wasn't a perfect personal performance, but I have no reason to complain. In Brawl, you're rarely facing inexperienced players. Most opponents understand the current meta and know exactly how to maximize every ruleset.
Thankfully, the combined effort of our guild members paid off once again.
ClaNFT finished in second place with an impressive 303 points, earned through 101 victories and 27 defeats. Seeing us secure second place felt genuinely satisfying. Sometimes, finishing second after a hard-fought battle is sweeter than taking first place with ease, because you truly appreciate the teamwork and strategic decisions required to get there.
As rewards, every fully participating member received 2,550 Merits, while players with a Spellbook earned an additional 32.269 SPS in staked rewards.
Little by little, my SPS balance keeps growing.
That's one of the lessons Splinterlands continues to teach me: patience often produces rewards that are much bigger than they first appear.
When Earthquake Becomes Your Best Friend
Among all the matches I played, one battle stood out as the most interesting.
The battle featured the combination of Even Stevens, High Five, and Earthquake rulesets.
Most players immediately think about using Flying monsters whenever Earthquake appears. That's the obvious strategy.
This time, however, I decided to approach things a little differently.
I chose Krash Wanderford as my main tank. With its high Speed, it was difficult for my opponent to land consistent hits. Behind it, I deployed Runeseer Sevaya, whose Protect ability granted additional armor to my entire team.
The strategy became even more interesting because I positioned Runeseer Sevaya between two monsters with Weapon Training. As a result, a unit that normally couldn't attack suddenly became a genuine offensive threat.
To strengthen the lineup further, I also brought Kazira Vaelstrik, whose abilities helped reduce the impact of the Earthquake ruleset on my formation.
Meanwhile, my opponent fielded very few monsters with the Flying ability.
And that's exactly where Earthquake became my ally.
Round after round, the earthquake slowly chipped away at my opponent's team. The extra 2 Armor provided by Protect allowed my monsters to survive significantly longer, while the enemy gradually lost Health every single turn.
Sometimes, victory doesn't come from dealing the biggest damage.
Sometimes, all you need to do is let the ruleset fight on your behalf.

Closing Thoughts
This Brawl wasn't a clean sweep. Those two losses are still valuable lessons that I'll review before the next event. Even so, I'm grateful to have contributed 18 points and helped ClaNFT secure another second-place finish.
On top of that, receiving 250,000 Glint from Survival Mode has given me fresh motivation to strengthen both my collection and my Exemplar cards. Splinterlands always seems to provide another reason to keep moving forward, even after one challenge has ended.
Now it's time to put that Glint to good use, refine my strategies, and prepare for the next Brawl.
Because in the world of Splinterlands, today's victory is only the opening chapter of next week's even greater challenge.
