Second round of chemo’s done! Weekend run

Last Tuesday my wife went for the second round of chemo’s. Whereas the first two days were pretty ok-ish, it went downhill fast in the weekend. While there are no signs that she would require medical attention right now (as chemo just breaks down everything) - it just sucks to see her hurt so much. But on a positive note.. 25% of the chemo’s done!

My own week was also quite heavy, as it was filled with extra activities from the kids school and sports. My goal is to let the kids go through life as normal as possible. Which ment trying to let them participate on these activities where possible. For example on tuesday to friday there was a 5k hike (with +/- 5000 kids aged 4-12) they wanted to go to. We went 3 out of the 4 days and I was very glad to be able to support them to join their friends.

Healthwise, I feel the bad sleep, stress and lack of training having a large impact on myself. While I am trying to take care of myself, it is hard as there are soo much things to do right now amd forcing myself to sleep better when I am already in bed early (but just can’t get some quality sleep) is easier said than done. But we are trying! Did 3x 5km hike and 30km cycling this week before my first run this week - where I ran alongside my daughter in preperation for her traffic exam.

Finally some positive news, my feet did no longer hurt during the run, so that was a welcome suprice. Like the previous traffic exam training runs I really start to appreaciate the quality time together with my daughter.
