Monday Night Madness - Season One

For many years, one of my favourite parts of gaming wasn't chasing rankings or winning prizes. It was Friday Night Magic.

Whether I was sitting down as a player or organising events as a tournament organiser, Friday Night Magic was always about more than the matches themselves. It was a place where people would gather after work, meet up with friends, talk about the decks they were playing, discuss the latest card releases, celebrate great pulls, relive incredible plays and, of course, brag about winning the event.

The competition mattered, but it was never the only reason people showed up. The real magic was the community.

Looking Back to Move Forward

As I've spent more time in Splinterlands, I've realised that many of the same ingredients already exist within the community. We have fantastic streamers running regular events. We have players discussing strategies, sharing battle stories, celebrating lucky reward drops and debating future game changes. The social side of Splinterlands is alive and well. The initial spark for this idea came during an @ehmaywuntee stream. Seeing the community engagement made me think back to those Friday Night Magic nights and how much fun organised casual competition can be.

Casual Competition With a Reason to Keep Coming Back

Starting 17 August, I'll be hosting a weekly event on the PhoenixRebornTV stream: Monday Night Madness. Every week there will be a one-hour tournament window where players can jump in and compete. The tournaments will be structured in groups of up to 8 players, meaning competitors may need to complete as many as 7 matches during that hour.

How To Join

All Monday Night Madness events will be hosted through the Splinterlands Tournament Site. Find the latest Monday Night Madness event, register before the start time, play your matches during the one-hour window, and earn points toward the 13-week seasonal leaderboard. Weekly participation and consistent performance will determine the season standings.

The Bigger Picture: Season One

Why I'm Excited

One of the things I've always loved about organised play is that it gives people a reason to engage with a game outside of their daily routine. It's a reason to catch up with familiar faces, meet new players and test strategies in a competitive environment that still feels welcoming. That's what Friday Night Magic did for me for many years, and that's the atmosphere I'm hoping to bring to Splinterlands with Monday Night Madness.

Whether you are a seasoned tournament grinder or simply looking for a fun way to engage with the community each week, Monday Night Madness is open to everyone. Register, battle, earn points and see if you have what it takes to become the first-ever Monday Night Madness Champion!
