Splinterlands Update: Back into the Swing of it.

The last couple of months have been busy with work but I have been battling away in the background in the Splinterlands arena.

I have managed to push to 800+ SPS using a split of 35% staked SPS & 65% liquid SPS. This has allowed me to push my rental SPS quite considerably. During the past season, I was a lot more inconsistent in my play time than any other due to work commitments etc but the opening few days were very strong. In the first few days I managed make a profit on my 20k rental.

With my delegation now finished, I am setting up my reset for the new season starting at 20k sps.

I do accept that using liquid SPS is one way to complete my objective. I rarely have the funds to support my account on a consistent basis so setting up a system like this helps me to ensure I am above water and can continue to compete at my level. Ideally, I would stop using LiquidSPS longterm but for now, I will look to reduce my liquid portions once the account has entered a stage where growth is not really a serious requirement card wise.

In the mean time: having a consistent 65% liquid reward means I can make several purchases to keep my account alive.

Cards purchased and levelled up recently have been;

These are the bigger highlights of 30 or so purchases

Why these cards?

Kavor Skarn Level 2

I needed a Dragon summoner badly and this just about covers that and Little League. Dragons are so fun to play so I am glad to have a new card. Even if it was expensive and I happened to have an unexpected investment.

Mindless Thrall to level 3

I love this card with the Phase but getting it to third level is all about the extra damage boost. A fantastic card.

Grove Doomblade Level 2

Great damage and in a reverse speed this card is deadly. It is very cheap too!

Skrag the Gnaw Level 1

Poison Burst is horrid and when deployed well it can devastate teams. That is the plan here.

Warborn Shaman Level 1

I love this card for the Void Armour and the damage. Being dual element means I can use it twice as much. I did pick up an Archer Koi as a support but I don't consider that a highlight really. Part of the unexpected investment.

Henchling Enforcer Level 1

Hlafing damage and a promo card for the extra 10% earning boost! Dual element too. What is not to love.

Harbinger of Chaos Level 1

8 mana, Divine shield and three damage. Yes please. This is an old favourite!

How does it all work?

The maths for this is simple enough 0.002 x 20k = 40 dec per day. 40 dec per day x 7 days is 280 dec a week.

I made enough SPS in my 65% liquid portion to pay this off in two days. So I pushed harder into the Gold levels. I extended to 35k rental and then again to 50k. Both times paying off my rental costs upfront from my earnings. Once I settled into 50k rental, I saw a ceiling for now as far as my deck was able to push. So I held in Gold 1 for a while and then I stopped playing about 5 days into the season.

With my work schedule being lessened now for the summer, I can see my full energy being used ahead of the new season. I have plenty of new cards on my list to purchase and a perhaps even another small investment to come.

SPS Goals

As I continue to earn more SPS I am reducing my rental amounts slowly but surely. So the next goal is 1k SPS which will save me around 14 dec per week. Not a grand total at all but double my saving from my current point. I think a realistic goal is to get to 1k this season or perhaps earlier. Then onto 1500 sps for the month of July. That is my new goal.

Hive Power Update

A good jump from my previous goals. So lets look at 750hp as my next goal.

While I had a solid and very hot start to the season, it certainly cooled off somewhat toward the end. The good news however is I have been able to power up a bunch of hive which now gives me some new targets to work with. Ideally I am looking at 750 hp as my next goal.

I hope the next updates will be much more frequent and consistent. Until then, see you on the battlefield!
