Refining the Craft: Turning a Publishing Delay into a Learning Opportunity

Since Google is still taking some time to verify the rights to my book, I've decided to use this waiting period productively by thoroughly proofreading the file I submitted—not just for grammar, but also for the underlying code. Although I spent hours preparing the manuscript for release, I’ve come across a few issues that I’m now in the process of correcting. These aren’t major flaws, but they’re enough to merit revision for the sake of quality and consistency.

In hindsight, I suppose it's a good thing that Google is being so meticulous with the verification process. It’s given me the opportunity to deepen my understanding of how EPUB files are structured and function. I've started learning more about the technical specifications—things like proper XHTML formatting, metadata handling, and how different readers interpret CSS styling. It’s been a humbling reminder that publishing a digital book involves more than just writing; there’s a layer of digital craftsmanship that deserves just as much care.
