I'm Thinking of Getting a Microscope...
Even though I’ve always enjoyed science, it never really occurred to me to buy myself a microscope. It’s not something I need, nor do I feel compelled to have it out of some consumerist impulse, but the idea has always intrigued me. Maybe it’s worth considering.
As I continue building my wealth, I’ve been thinking about investing in more scientific tools. Eventually, I’d like to buy beakers, a condenser, a thermostat, a Bunsen burner, and other glassware to experiment with extracting natural products from fruit. But for now, a microscope feels like the best first step—something that could help me better understand the plants I’m growing and the algae that develops in my glassware.
This is all part of a gradual process for me, a way of deepening my understanding of agronomy and plant biology while also revisiting chemistry and microbiology. Now that I’m an adult, I feel more drawn to these subjects than I ever did when I was younger. Is it a passion? Not quite, but since caring for indoor plants has become a genuine passion, it feels worthwhile to branch into related fields.
I’m still undecided, but in time I’ll figure out exactly where I want to expand next.
