The Splinterlands Gazette - Yaba's Pickle And The Mysterious Tasoshi Drakamoto
Was an entertaining week in the Splinterlands, with new updates and two new cards! Yaba's Pickle is here, and the mysterious Tasoshi Drakamoto is seen more often than the news about Bitcoin or Donald Trump!
As Deckard Cain once said... Stay Awhile and Listen! Splinterlands isn't just a game... it's a dynamic universe that has the potential to shape and transform lives. Is it the thrill of battles or the joy of collecting cards!
It's all about synergy! What's in for the battle mages? An infinite challenge to become the best! Endless fights and opportunities to become a better battle mage.. and the new cards will help!
And honestly, the journey is far from over. Every new game is another chance to rise higher and prove what I’m really made of. Time to get some pickles and the new dragon card available for vouchers!
This week, our community was joined by none other than Tasoshi Drakamoto... a well-known figure... but also so mysterious! The new drakoshan may always brings energy, insight, and a whole lot of fun.
Tatoshi didn’t come empty-handed, either. Whether you’re here for the memes, the mission, or the potential gains, this pre-sale moment has been nothing short of electric.
Stay tuned... Yaba Pickle is here as well! Until then we shall enjoy the mysterious Tasoshi Drakamoto, a powerful Fire element mage inspired as a tribute to the mysterious Satoshi Nakamoto.
This 8-mana card brings a unique mix of abilities that can really change the flow of battle. Tasoshi Drakamoto grants an Inspire ability, giving friendly units a boost in melee attack, and also has Sneak, which targets the last enemy on the battlefield.
As she levels up, she gains a chance to stun opponents and can even counterattack when defeated, making her both a threat and a great support unit. With solid health and shield stats, she’s built to survive and keep fighting.
You can get Tasoshi Drakamoto exclusively in the Splinterlands Voucher Shop for about 250 vouchers per card, which roughly translates to $6.59 or 30 Hive. There’s no limit to how many you can buy, but each purchase comes with a small chance to get a rare black foil or gold foil version.
This card fits especially well in Modern format decks, where her abilities can create strategic advantages without relying on the overwhelming power of legacy cards. I could only afford one... but that's ok!
Tasoshi Drakamoto is definitely a cool new option if you’re looking to add firepower and flair to your collection while enjoying the dynamic battles of Splinterlands. Vonak!
With 42 mana for team selection, and a trio of battle-rules that advantaged close combat... I went for deadly spells! Blood and Sunder to destroy armor, Heavy Hitters for duble damage to knocked units, and Melee Mayhem were good but I declinded the offer!
Nidhoggr: -1 Health & -1 Armor for enemies, boosts for three allies
Halfling Refugee: Melee with Weary
Ashen Cindergrim: Caster with Opportunity
Night Reaper: Caster with Flying and Wingbreak
Tasoshi Drakamoto: Caster with Sneak
Kelan Gaines: Caster with Snipe
From the three battle-rules I was sure I will fight agains melee units, and my focus on magic was well thought. My dragon archon boosted the Night Reaper, Tasoshi Drakamoto and Kelan Gaines with Blast and Deathblow... so the game was on!
The blast damage was blowing the enamies to smitterines, and the Halfling Refugee was just a pawn in this game! The tank has hold the lines for one round, and helped the casters to lower the health of the opposite team.
The Ashen Cindergim couldn't tank at all, and fell after the first attack. However, a brand new wave of spells was charged and ready to retaliate. It was time for sparks, flares and magic!
The Night Reaper was strong enough to shield Tasoshi and Kelan, with flying and a supperior speed! One single spell and two enemies were sent into oblivion, then Tasoshi blasted another one.
By the end of the third round was only a lonely Infernal Firestorm against my troups, and the Night Reaper had no mercy! No need for heavy hitters when you have deadly casters! See the full battle here!
With decent mana and a trio of melee-favoring battle rules.... I choose a different path. While others would lean into brute force, I trusted in magic. I waited and then unleashed a devastating counterattack.
Now... let's talk about Yaba’s Pickle! This drop is kind of a big dill! Yaba’s Pickle rolled out of the Splinterlands pantry with all the chaos, flavor, and rarity you could ask for. It's one of the juiciest card drops in Splinterlands!
Yaba’s Pickle is a limited-edition collectible card being introduced in Splinterlands, as part of a special promotional event featuring multiple release phases! It includes a sale, a draw, and an auction... each offering different foil versions of the card.
Thematically, Yaba’s Pickle is a quirky and mysterious item tied to Yabapmatt! While its full lore may be tongue-in-cheek or symbolic, in gameplay terms, the card itself has unique stats and abilities, with rarity and prestige increasing across its Regular, Gold Foil, and Black Foil editions.
Get ready... the journey to claim Yaba’s Pickle started with the SPS Stakeholder Pickle Release. A snapshot of all staked SPS will be taken and for every 1,000 SPS you’ve got staked at that moment, you’re be eligible to receive one of these exclusive cards.
This moment is just for Splinterlands SPS stakers, but don’t worry... the excitement doesn’t end there. Even if you miss the snapshot, the Fortune Draw and Auction events are open to all players, giving everyone a shot at the goods.
I had a little over 8000 staked SPS so my allocation after the snapshot was eight cards! Not an expensive buy, is you consider the versatility of the pickle, and how can be integrated into battle dynamics! However, I wish it was a neutral card!
For just 150 DEC or 150 Credits per card, you can dive into the Pickle Shop starting June 24th. The sale runs for 30 days and features three foil editions: Regular Foils, Gold Foils with a 2% drop rate (or 4% with Alchemy Potions), and the ultra-rare Black Foils at 1 in 4,000 odds — boosted to 1 in 2,000 with Midnight Potions.
Missed out? No problem. Beginning July 29th, the Gold Foil Arcane Fortune Draw gives you another shot — one Gold Foil Arcane card will be awarded daily for 50 days. Each draw costs 200 Aura, 10 Vouchers, and 200 DEC, guaranteeing a regular foil pickle and a chance at the daily gold.
The final chase begins September 23rd with the Black Foil Arcane Auction. Only 20 exist, with one auction per day over 25 hours. To bid, craft Auction Marks using 1,000 Aura, 50 Vouchers, and 500 DEC. Marks are tradable, escrowed when bidding, and refunded if outbid.
Some events will overlap — so you’ll need to choose your path carefully. Plan ahead, play smart. Key dates: SPS Snapshot on June 17th... sale starts June 24th... Fortune Draw kicks off July 29th... Black Foil Auction begins September 23rd.
Still thinking about my strategy, and if I want to dive into the upcoming raffles or auctions. Until then, I combined my pickles for a level two card. It gained one armor, and I think this can bring some wins on the battlefield!
Whether you're going for gold or chasing that elusive Black Foil, Yaba’s Pickle is the drop you won’t want to miss. For now let's focus about the little salty golem, and see how if fits into different teams!
Watching the evolution, and knowing that I will never be able to reach a maximal level, I think the level three version is rather good. I can get the current stats of my level two card plus dodge! This pickle will be hard to slice!
The opportunity came straight away, with a 16-mana battle that would end very fast. Four's a Crowd didn't really matter, only Close Range and Noxious Fumes. I had to survive longer than the enemy... and Yaba's Pickle was the anwer!
Prophet Rosa: +2 Ranged or Shield
Endless Gibbon: Melee with Range
Daigendark Surveyor: Support with Magic Reflect
Moxian Rebel: Caster with Weapon Training
Yaba's Pickle: Salty Support
Chosing Prophet Rosa in a battle with Close Range available is obvious... but I went for a twist. I didn't boosted the ranged attack of the units because I had no ranged units, instead I blessed Yaba's Pickle with Shield!
The Moxian Rebel gave magic powers to the support units, and hopefully enough damage to nuke the enemy team! The Endless Gibbon had no chance against Thraghun, but the Pickle's armor made the Gonach Excavator waste a round!
The wave of noxious fumes hit hard, and my Moxian Rebel and the opponent's Tharghun hit the dust! The pickle survived... and the pickle delivered the final blow! It's a big dill! See the full battle here!
