Music has a magical way of triggering memories from the past. We can hear a song we recognize and suddenly nostalgia from the past comes flooding back to us. Often times this can be memories we had long forgotten, and now suddenly they're at the forefront of our minds like it happened yesterday. Let's dive into a song I love that triggers fond memories!

White Christmas
I don't know many people who haven't heard of Bing Crosby and his song, White Christmas. It's the all-time best-selling single. The movie itself is a great classic. If you haven't heard it and/or haven't seen the movie, do it. You won't regret it.
I try to see a play of White Christmas every few years, and try to remember to watch it at least every other year. This song has especially fond memories connected with it. I had heard the song growing up as a kid, but never realized it was from a movie. My wife introduced it to me when we first got married, and since then I've had a special fondness for it. The movie is funny and yet wholesome, back when Christmas movies didn't need to be crass to have humor in them.
The song itself brings back vivid Christmas memories when I was about ten. I remember getting miniature army men, bases, tanks and jet fighters for some of my presents. The bases could launch toy missiles. We had a train set up under the tree, driving in a circle. I set up some of the army men on the train and played for who knows how long, trying to knock the army men off the train and staging my own war. I think memories like these stick with me most because despite being simple they're fun, bring back happy emotions, and let me escape from how busy Christmas can be as an adult.
