Unsere Reise in Frankreich (Normandie) geht weiter und mittlerweile sind wir am Omaha Beach angekommen. An jenem Strand, an dem 1944 die alliierten Truppen landeten und damit einen Wendepunkt in der Weltgeschichte erlangten.

Es ist schon ein besonderes Gefühl, dort zu sitzen, und darüber nachzudenken, wieviele Todesopfer diese Schlacht hervorbrachte.

Morgen wollen wir uns das Memorial Center und den Kriegsfriedhof der Alliierten ansehen.

Das wir überhaupt hier sind, ist schon ein Glücksfall. Meine Frau hatte bei der Buchung des Campingplatzes die falschen Daten angegeben (31.08.25 - 02.09.25 anstelle 31.07.25 - 02.08.25). Man hat uns aber für die zwei Tage noch zwei Plätze anbieten können, auch wenn wir hierbei einmal umziehen müssen.
