Why Individual Performance Isn’t Enough?
![]()
Hello, Splinterlands warriors!
I hope your spirits remain as tough as Gladiator monsters, even though crypto prices lately have been like someone who hasn’t had their morning coffee—sluggish, quiet, and lacking energy. Fortunately, the world of Splinterlands isn’t feeling that slump. In fact, over the past few months, it has become even more exciting with the arrival of new features that keep the game full of surprises.
One thing I always look forward to is Brawl.
And as usual, I was once again entrusted with guarding Fray 12.
In this Brawl, I had 5 active battles to play. Interestingly, I received 4 automatic wins because some opposing guilds didn’t fill their slots.

Opportunities like this are always nice, but I still enjoy victories earned through real strategic duels much more. That’s where the true excitement of playing Splinterlands lies.
Out of the five matches I actually played, I only suffered one defeat. The rest I managed to win using various team combinations I had prepared beforehand.
Overall, my results were:
- 8 wins
- 1 loss
- 24 contribution points for the ClaNFT Guild
Personally, I’m quite satisfied with this result. It’s not perfect, but it’s very close.
Unfortunately, strong individual performance doesn’t always lift the guild’s overall ranking.
This time, the competition was incredibly tight.

Our guild had to settle for fourth place. Not a bad position, but not quite enough to make us smile widely. It feels like a runner finishing just one step short of the podium—not entirely disappointed, but not fully satisfied either.
Even so, all participating members still received rewards:
- 2,100 Merits
- 20,272 SPS Staked for players who own a Spellbook
For me personally, additional SPS is always welcome. Bit by bit, staking continues to grow. It may not feel significant day by day, but over several months, the difference becomes noticeable.
That’s the nature of blockchain—it teaches us that small, consistent gains often matter more than large, one-time rewards.
Merits Keep Growing, Gladius Still Waiting
There’s one thing that keeps me excited after every Brawl.
Merits.
Right now, my Merits savings have reached around 14,000. I haven’t used them yet because my goal remains the same: to wait until I reach 20,000 Merits so I can open 10 Gladius Cases at once.
The feeling is definitely different.

Rather than opening them one by one, I prefer to wait a bit longer and enjoy the “harvest” moment all at once. Who knows—maybe luck will be on my side, and I’ll get the Gladiator card I’ve been aiming for.
Waiting can be tiring sometimes.
But in Splinterlands, waiting is often part of the strategy.
The longer I stay in ClaNFT, the more convinced I become that a guild is not just a place to earn Merits or SPS.
A guild is a place to learn.
I’ve learned a lot from simple discussions with fellow guild members. Sometimes it’s about choosing the right Summoner. Sometimes it’s about monster positioning. There are even strategies I never considered before—until I watched a guildmate’s replay and suddenly gained a new idea.
In my opinion, this is why new players should join an active guild as soon as possible.
Rewards are important.
But experience, discussion, and learning together are far more valuable in the long run.
That’s the beauty of Splinterlands.
Every Brawl brings a new story. Sometimes we become the hero. Sometimes we become the lesson. But as long as we keep learning, every defeat is actually teaching us how to win the next match.
So stay motivated, keep strengthening your card collection, stay active with your guild, and enjoy the process. Who knows—maybe in the next Brawl, it’ll be our turn to stand at the top of the podium.
See you in the next Brawl report!
