From Mistakes to Contribution: This Week’s Brawl Journey

Warm greetings, arena warriors! May your spirits stay strong amid the news of upcoming improvements to the survival mode feature in Splinterlands. Honestly, updates like these always make me more excited to log in—even though the results on the battlefield don’t always match expectations.

But this time… the story is different.

If last week I had to swallow a bitter reality because I forgot to fill my Brawl lineup, this time I truly made up for that mistake. No more “forgetting,” no more excuses about being busy.

I filled every team in fray 12, a position that already feels like a “second home” for me in the CLANFT guild.

And the result?
Finally, I could smile wide again.

Out of a total of 9 battles, I managed to contribute:

  • 7 wins (including 3 automatic wins / WO)
  • 2 losses

Not a perfect result, but clearly much better than the previous week when I didn’t even get to fight.

As a team, our guild managed to finish in 2nd place with:

  • 47 Crowns
  • 2,350 Merits
  • 26.4 SPS (staked)

A solid outcome to grow the “future savings,” especially the SPS that goes straight into staking.

The Eye-Opening Battle

Out of all the matches, there was one loss that I found the most interesting to discuss. It wasn’t just a defeat—it became an important lesson in reading your opponent’s skill combinations.

👉 LINK BATTLE 👈

In this match, I faced a magic-based monster team. At first, I felt quite confident because the ruleset leaned toward counterspell, which should have worked in my favor.

But it turned out I missed one crucial detail: the presence of the deflect skill.

That’s where everything started to fall apart.

My opponent used a combination of Night Reaper boosted by Delwyn Dragonscale. Their magic damage increased, and every attack I made turned into a boomerang due to the deflect effect.

Meanwhile, I relied on Fina Voxom, who had already grown quite strong thanks to bloodlust.

The problem?

No matter how strong Fina Voxom became, if she kept taking magic damage while her attacks didn’t effectively damage the opponent due to deflect… she would eventually fall.

And that’s exactly how I lost.

The Surprising Lesson

From that battle, I realized something quite “eye-opening”:

Sometimes we focus too much on the ruleset and forget to pay attention to the opponent’s skill combinations.

I was too confident in counterspell, but failed to consider that deflect could be a far deadlier trap.

This is one of those moments where Splinterlands truly feels like a high-level strategy game—not just a card battle.

What makes the Brawl experience enjoyable is the sense of togetherness within the guild.

Even though I’m just one small part of the team, it still feels like:

  • Every win matters
  • Every contribution counts
  • And every mistake becomes a shared lesson

Brawl is like a “hands-on class” in Splinterlands—learning directly from experience.

Closing & Quick Tips

This Brawl proves that past mistakes can be redeemed, as long as we’re willing to learn and refocus.

From forgetting to fight, now contributing again. From losing due to strategy, now understanding what needs improvement.

Simple advice from me:

👉 Don’t just focus on the ruleset—pay attention to your opponent’s skill combinations.
👉 Always double-check your strategy before submitting your team.
👉 And most importantly, stay consistent in joining Brawls.

Because in Splinterlands, victory isn’t just about having strong cards… it’s about having the right understanding at the crucial moment.

See you in the next Brawl, friends. Let’s keep learning, keep fighting, and hopefully bring home even more victories! ⚔️
