Weekend Engagement - Rating Myself

Rate the following things out of ten and explain why:
Your attitude.
Your Intelligence.
Your attention to detail.
Your ownership and discipline.

Am back! It's been a while since I wrote a prompt from Weekend Engagement, due to a various of reasons. In any case, I thought this prompt was pretty interesting, because it's not often we (or at least myself) rate ourselves. I promise I will be honest. Without further ado, let's dive right in!

Attitude: 8/10

This is a tricky attribute because it really depends on the setting. When I am by myself, I think to do better because I am in my own little bubble and there's no disturbance. However, if I am at work, there's deadlines, meetings, external stresses, and my attitude is not as good. That said, I still give myself a relatively high score of 8 because I think I have a positive attitude when it comes to the general outlook of life.

Intelligence: 8/10

Haha I realise none of them are straightforward. If this is purely based on IQ and paper qualifications, then maybe I am above average. But I recognise intelligence is way more than that. There are many other skill sets which I would fare poorly, such as cooking a meal, doing sales pitches, and many other abilities. On balance, I think I deserve a good 8.

Attention To Detail: 8.5/10

I wanted to give myself higher - but mentally it's so hard to cross into the 9s, and I cannot imagine rating full marks for anything, because there's always room for improvement. The reason for this high(er) score actually comes from external validation. I used to have a period when most of my colleagues, if they had to describe me in one word, said I am "meticulous". I was indeed extremely meticulous and I used to think everyone was like that, until I realise it's one of my strengths. However, as I grew older, I think I have become less perfectionist, and there are things that we can chill and there is no need to be 100% accurate. So let's cut 0.5 point and settle for 8.5.

Ownership and Discipline: 6/10

Among the 4 attributes, this has to be the one with the most room for improvement. I definitely used to be more disciplined, but in line with my change in mindset and perspective in life, about taking it "easy" and not be so stressed up all the time, I have relaxed a little. And ironically, this is all possible because my younger self did most of the hard work by slogging hard and putting maximum effort to invest in myself. And after more than a decade, I can enjoy the fruits of my labour.

Ending the post with a photo that I took in my recent trip to Bangkok. My travel companion said it looked like me. >< Not sure if that is meant to be a compliment or a tease, but this character's (Hirono) face does look a little unhappy or with attitude. What do you think?
