Monaco - Glamorous Streets, Iconic Sights And F1 Thrills

Hello there!
Having completed my earlier travel posts on several interesting countries, such as Japan, Maldives, Indonesia and US, it's probably time to share about my recent Europe trip! If you are keen to find out which countries and cities I visited, you can read the quick summary here.
There is actually a back story behind this trip. My friend and I planned this trip a few years back and it was supposed to take place in Apr 2020, but as most of you would know, Covid 19 pandemic came and we had to cancel the trip due to all the travel restrictions and health advisories. So we planned for this trip in 2025 and it finally materialised!
Documenting all my entries for this 2025 Europe Trip:
Turkey - An Istanbul Adventure: From Blue Mosque to Bazaars
France - Exploring The Parisian Icons: Effiel Tower And Arc De Triomphe
France - Wandering Through Paris: The Louvre and Jardin des Tuileries
France - Strolling Through Paris: Notre Dame And The Seine
France - Climbing Montmartre: Basilique du Sacré-Cœur and Panoramic Views
France - Exploring Nice: Promenade des Anglais And City Strolls
France - Climbing Castle Hill: Breathtaking Views and Nice's Coastal Beauty
Monaco - Visiting The Home Of F1 Street Racing!
Time for another adventure in Monaco! We continued from where we left off previously, took one last look at the Prince's Palace of Monaco (which actually looked more grand from far), and visited some of the attractions in the vicinity.

Similar to many European cities, this is one of the cathedrals in Monaco. Took the photo from two sides and there were actually quite a number of visitors that went in to take a look.

Thereafter, we made our way down the sloping hill and we were back to "ground level". More road barricades to manoeuvre, and more detours to go through, as we tried to enjoy the view at the port.

There were some gaps in the barricades and I was able to look through and snap a photo here!

It's an uphill climb again. As mentioned in my earlier post, Monaco's terrain is very uneven and there's lot of inclined paths and stairs. But this made the views look amazing and very unique!

More yachts docked at the port. It's probably a lifestyle that I won't be able to experience in my lifetime (and that's fine of course).

We also spotted a cruise too! So people can actually visit Monaco via cruise trips too!

We moved back inland and these are some of the beautiful buildings in Monaco! It was pretty hot too!

This is one of the more iconic hotels in Monaco, called Hotel de Paris Monte Carlo. It's situated right at the Casino Square and it looked so grand. If you watch F1, you would definitely take notice of this hotel! There were so many fancy cars parked outside the hotel, and I googled the nightly rates, and they are in the thousands!!! Of course, for food lovers, they have Michelin star restaurants in there. Very, very grand.

Other than F1 and the views, one of the main attractions in Monaco would be the casino! One look at the architecture and I was simply wow-ed. I didn't go into the casino because I was not in the mood to gamble, but I managed check out the lobby and reception counters. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Monaco!

Finally, I specially made a detour to this place! F1 fans would know where this is! It's the famous hairpin in the F1 race! It's so special because it's one of the few places where overtaking is possible and there are always so many incidents at this hairpin. So I knew I must make it here to see this hairpin in person!

So that's all for my two part series for Monaco. It was approaching afternoon and we made our way back to the train station to take the train back to Nice, France. Monaco is very compact and is very manageable by foot over a day trip. As a F1 fan, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Monaco, and the views were very amazing! Of course, a word of advice, the things here are not cheap so do expect to fork out a fair bit if you plan to stay here or have some meals. Any guess where would I head to next? :P
And that's all I have today! Have you been to Monaco? Let me know in the comments below!
