Bangkok - Where Caramel Meets Lemon @ A KEEN

After a hearty breakfast and a sumptuous dinner in my earlier posts, it's time for some coffee and desserts!

I was at One Bangkok, one of the relatively new malls in Bangkok (they just have so many these days!), had a full lunch, and was actually planning to go to my usual matcha spot to enjoy my favourite matcha, but this banner caught my attention!

Wow, a lemon creme brulee! In a real lemon somemore! I mean, I don't know about the taste, but sometimes we make decisions based on the aesthetics of the food. Hahaha.

So I decided to skip matcha (for another day) and be adventurous to try out a new cafe! I also need some caffeine, and like most people, I used Google and AI to check out what's their signature drinks and check out their review, and then settled on this drink called Burnt Caramel Latte!

When I was told my order was ready for collection, I was a little surprised why my latte looked like that. It was then I realised the toppings were actually homemade burnt caramel candy, which was quite interesting!

So the taste test!

Burnt Caramel Latte - The coffee was great, but the highlight was the burnt caramel candy. I could eat it on its own, and mix it with the latte as well. Because it's a candy, it would actually dissolve very easy in liquid. In most cafes, caramel lattes were laced with caramel syrup, but this one was totally different. So the taste experience was very special to me.

Lemon Creme Brulee - I have tried the standard Creme Brulee, but Lemon Creme Brulee was definitely a first! The sourness of the lemon combined with the sweet creme brulee was right on point and I really liked it! Of course, I could be somewhat biased because I am a desserts person, but this also means my expectations are higher. Hehe!

All in all, this came up to a very reasonable THB 350 (~USD 10.50). I think the key theme in their drinks and desserts was experimentation, and at least for these two items on the menu, it's really a refreshing experience for me. I will definitely try out their other stuff on the menu the next time I am there.
