Stag weekend ahead. Help me.
I don't know where the tradition of hens and stags came form but they are a big event here in Ireland.
One last bash before getting stuck in the monotony of married life with the old ball and chain. I had my own earlier in the year and we made a good weekend of it.
Now I have my best mate's over the weekend and as his best man the task of organizing fell on me. Not my strongest skill or favourite job but it has to be done and as tradition all of the other groomsmen are useless fuckers when it comes to helping. Like any good group project they will do one or two small tasks while the leader runs around sorting everything before they all share the credit at presentation time.
That's just how it goes.
I do think that it's going to be a good one though. We are all getting a little bit older and the though of drinking for two days straight doesn't appeal as uch as it used to due to hangovers, age and small children waiting at the end of it so it's more activity based with a little drinking rather than the other way around.
Friday:
Golf - Athenry.
A lovely course that we got a good deal on and just a few minutes from the city.
Dinner - Sports bar.
I've eaten here before and they are ideal for a stag dinner. Great burgers, loaded chips and a mix of drinks and cocktails.
Drinking session.
Unavoidable - I'll try to go handy but you know how these things go.
Saturday.
Recovery with a big breakfast.
Vital if we are going to survive the day.
Go carting/ Paintball.
This is a joint package that starts with go carting on one of Europe's biggest tracks followed by an hour of paintball. A bad call on the stags part as we are obviously just going to shoot him for an hour solid.
Dinner.
A proper one this time as his dad and uncle are with us.
Second drinking session.
Unavoidable and if we have recovered a heavy one.
I was lucky enough to get us a giant airbnb in the heart of Galway city which considering there is an arts festival is not easy. Nearly every hotel was booked up so getting a big group booked in is tough.
I do love Galway city though which should make for a great weekend. The pubs are class and lots of live music, tourists and every manner of people will be out and about. The only downside is that I've slightly injured my leg playing a hurling match last night which isn't great considering how may activities we have lined up.
It actually looks a bit like diagon alley in this photo which matches up. I'll try to add a few photo's over the weekend if i'm still alive but only from the early part of the day.

Sounds a good program but paintball beats everything!
sorry you broke your leg. maybe a good stretch for your sport hubby. try to avoid that drinking Mr. Niall, personally i am not a fan of it. i prioritize stayinf off what makes mr dizzy. your best mate will surely share that credit, what can you do? At least he showed up, lols.
Sounds like an epic stag weekend full of laughs, chaos, and just enough responsibility to make it memorable, best of luck surviving it all!
