Why Do People Like to be Scared?

I signed up (some) of my kids to one of those schools where the parents and kids like to create opportunities to hang out. I like it. I'm surprised I like it, but I do. Especially for my youngest, that God guided me into giving her an opportunity to build a deep community right by her home.

COVID killed a lot of community, and I'm kinda boring anyway. I love being around people but only for short bursts of time, my kids are much the same, so 1-3 hour hangout is more than enough - and when I host? They Squirrel away into their bedrooms to grab some quiet.

Yesterday's get-together was at Balboa Parks Haunted Trail

Imagine a group of young teenagers, walking through a haunted trail with all their classmates.

I stayed outside and gossiped with some moms.

This scary lady is one of the pre-scarers. They hang outside the trail in costume to build the modd. She decided to come visit me while I was waiting, she was kinda scary and made a creepy hrrrrrrrr sound and breathed on me but it was not too bad. I knew she was in costume, and by law they can't touch you, so I decided to take some selfies.

If course, I'm a "boomer" so it took too long to turn on my camara and finally it turned on as a video. But here's a screenshot of homegirl, hanging out with me. She was wearing some contacts which made it look like the color part of her eyes was whitish.

There was a little girl with us who saw her and screamed. Her scream stayed in my spine a few minutes it was so loud, I was surprised at how genuinely scared she was.

Those people you see in my background are not my people, just a glimpse of San Diego Balboa Park Haunted Trail 2026 people. They're dressed kinda boring, people dress much brighter around here.

Thanks for stopping by to have a read.

The selfies taken with that terrifying woman are truly scary! Just seeing her in the photos gave me a fright too! 😂
