Conspiracy Theory - The Bitter Truth

Conspiracy Theories - Have you ever heard a conspiracy theory that claims governments want to keep the population poor? What do you think of these theories? What benefits do you think there would be from keeping us poor?

There's an African adage that says “ whenever a child cries and points in a particular direction, it's either the father or mother, is there." Talking about Conspiracy theory, I think, is when people push a false narrative against the government. But a situation where every action of the government points towards the direction of those narratives, would it be termed as conspiracy? I bet, no.

For instance, to narrow my points home. My country is blessed with so many mineral resources that if the government makes good use of the funds generated from those resources and decided to run free education to all citizens at all levels, and give bursary to all students, the country would still be the richest in Africa. But what did they do? Looting!

Using my country as a case study and with facts from some other neighbouring countries, giving what I see, to a very large extent, I think these theories are relatively true. I choose the word “relatively” because it's not absolute(of course, nothing is) and not so with the government of every country.

Corrupt government benefits in keeping the population poor by siphoning the money meant for the masses to themselves and their generations yet unborn. Still tax them heavily and deny them basic human amenities. They brainwash the gullible citizens and weaponize poverty so as to use them as machineries to carry out their evil plans to rig elections, just to remain in power and steal more money, because they never get satisfied.

They only use poor people (financial and mental poverty) to carry out such acts, because they believe if everyone is rich there won't be anyone to carry out their dirty deals. That's why they do anything possible to frustrate and keep the population down.

Conspiracy theory, sometimes a false narrative but in situations where every policy and actions of the government centres on making a greater percentage of the population poor, then, it's no longer conspiracy but fact.
