💿 Let’s go! Nineties Friday is back! It’s June 12th 2026! I’m picking the year 1994 and picking four tunes from 4 of my favorite bands from the period! Punk Rock Friday! 🎸

I’m going full 1994 Punk Rock! Two of said records had massive mainstream success (Offspring & Green Day) the other two were gold albums but not on the mainstream success as other two (Rancid & NOFX). I’ll throw in a Bonus tune from Bad Religion. These are the 5 iconic punk rock records from 1994 no doubt! I’ve picked them for three tune tuesday b4 so I’ll make sure I pick fresh track to rep the albums! Enjoy!

All the albums were released on Epitaph records, an independently run punk rock label, besides Green Day who was on a major record label. Even the Offspring 1994 Smash album was independently released on Epitaph which was just so random given nobody expected the mainstream huge success from them! Green Day were on a major label whe it was expected, offspring was much more a long shot! Then the other 3 though lesser known are true classics!

Band - Offspring
Song - Self Esteem
Album - Smash (1994)

Band - Green Day
Song - Basket Case
Album - Dookie (1994)

Band - Rancid
Song - Salvation
Album - Let’s Go! (1994)

Band - NOFX
Song - Leave It Alone
Album - Punk in Drublic (1994)

Band - Bad Religion
Song - 21st Century Digital Boy
Album - Stranger Than Fiction (1994)

Mentioning the facts about Epitaph record label shows that you have a very deep knowledge of music
Nice Nineties Friday! Some awesome bands and I loved the tune selection! Epitaph must have made a fortune off of Smash, I doubt they saw those kind of sales coming from any other albums they were publishing. lol But if it weren't for labels like that so many great bands wouldn't have been able to put out their music. It's not like today, back then you had to have record deal to have any prayer of making it mainstream! Have a tip!
Facts! It’s wild man! They had not sold over 120K albums prior to 1994, I heard stories of how crazy it was just trying to keep up with demand. It lead to many other artists like Rancid & NOFX selling over 500K sales and hitting gold even though they didn’t have the mainstream break Offspring did. The band definitely made more since Indie pays almost double major label per unit! So Offspring the band did insane on Smash! Plus having a huge album probably got them a good deal when they didn’t bail two years later for a major label. Let’s check the stats ⬇️

The Offpring me traer recuerdos. No soy muy oyente del punk, pop/punk, Happy Punk...
Más the Offpring me hace recordar los tiempos donde en mi Ă©poca veĂa vĂdeo clips en un canal de televisiĂłn de frecuencia UHF
