Strait of Hormuz Closed Again (4/18/2026)

Iran has openly stated that the Strait of Hormuz is closed again after the United States has refused to remove its blockade after negotiations failed. Within the past 3 hours, Iran's Revolutionary Guard launched three attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.

The US is responding by doubling down on the blockcade. The US Carrier, USS Gerald R. Ford has successfully crossed the Suez Canal and entered the Red Sea. A US Navy P-8A Poseidon Maritime Patrol Airfcrat is now en route to Jordan after a lengthy mission in the Red Sea.

With more US vessels in the region, it's unlikely that the United States is going to back down. Reinforcements are arriving. Iran is no longer in a position to negotiate.
