it's surprising how nice shadows a simple tea candle, lamp and a copper water pot can make, they are common place items in an Indian home. with the lights on they seem plain enough. according to ayurveda storing water in copper pots overnight gives the water several beneficial qualities but since this is a shadow contest i shall leave the readers to find out for themselves about that and focus on the shadows.

but when the lights go out the mood becomes ever so slightly magical with the flame shining on the copper and the magnified shadow on the wall surrounded by the glow from the lamp. and that glow gradually fading into the ambient darkness of the room

from a bit closer and higher up the mood changes becoming more gloomy and overbearing without the more pleasant glow

taking the tea candle out of the lamp and placing it directly on the wooden surface positions the light source lower and changes the shape of the shadow more like a figure 8 with the shadow of the flat topped pot appearing more like it was a ball.
aren't shadows fun
