Fun with HIVE/HBD Arbitrage

If you've watched the price of HIVE lately, it's had some minor upswings in the price. It's only been about $0.01 or so, but it's enough I decided to have some fun timing the prices and trying my hand at exploiting the difference in these.

Over this week the price has fluctuated from about $0.09 to a little over $0.11.

What I've been doing is every time the price rose, I converted my HIVE to HBD after checking to make sure HBD was still $0.95-1.00. When the price of HIVE then dropped, I converted the HBD back to HIVE and capitalized on the difference.

It's usually not a huge profit, but it's fun. Say as an example HIVE rises in price to $0.10. Assuming HBD is worth $1, when I convert 300 HIVE I get 30 HBD. Once the price of HIVE drops to $0.09, HBD is now worth slightly more. When I convert it back to HIVE, I now have 333.33 HIVE instead.

Ex: 300 × 0.1 = 30 HBD -> 1 ÷ 0.09 = 11.11 × 30 = 333.33 HIVE

Sure, 33.33 HIVE isn't a huge amount to brag about. At the same time, it's HIVE I didn't really have to put much effort in to get, other than watching the price and converting when the time was right. Sure, I won't win every time, but it's also fun and for small amounts, so why not, right?
