90% Silver Under Spot

It's only a few days before Christmas and more packages are arriving. This one isn't from Santa, but it's one I've been looking forward to getting! I managed to snag an auction of 90% silver half dollars under spot! To top it off, silver jumped $2/oz at opening, just shy of $70/oz! Crazy!

With how rapidly spot price has been climbing lately, the deal I got on these was massive!

I got all five of these for $103.57, which includes shipping and tax! Each of these half dollars contains 0.36 troy ounces of pure silver. Melt value on these at $69/oz is $124.20! I basically got these for almost 17% under spot because of how quickly spot price is climbing. When I originally bought them spot was only about $63/oz, which means I got them for 18.5% under spot at the time!

Unlike the Sterling scrap I've been melting down, I certainly won't be melting these. I'll probably sell the two Kennedy half dollars and one of the Benjamin half dollars, then keep the second Benjamin and the Walking Liberty. After all is said and done, I'll have paid about $31 for $50-worth of silver. I love it when a hustle is successful, but even more when it gets me free or heavily discounted silver or gold!
