the main square in Larvik has some nice seating arrangements. these connected seats with the steel mesh are both comfortable and sturdy, but best of all they cast terrific shadows not only onto the tiled pavement but also the structure under the seats supporting and holding them together. visitors to the square surely appreciate the seats but sadly almost exclusively overlook the intricate everchanging shadow designs the chairs dependably provide. folks observing me taking such photos likely wonder what in the world i am taking photos of, even as they plainly can see what it happens to be. such is the plight of a shadow hunter.

fortunately though here on Hive we have the Shadow Hunters community who can value the beauty and wonders of this unique aspect of the world around us that is at the same time both ephemeral and reliable.
