Learn Serbian 101: Alphabets

Or just hello everyone,

To start with, Serbian language is quite unique. As it is using two scripts instead of one. Both are used interchangeably and they both have the same pronunciation. Fascinating? Or, just complicated. That's for each individual to decide.

Serbian is written in both, Cyrillic script or Latin script. With a bit of research, you will come across the difference. The former is mostly used by government and official documents.
Kids at a young age, learn both scripts. So, you would expect to see Serbian written in either one.
Another feature of Serbian is that, you may come across the language being referred to as "Serbo-Croatian". The name refer to the fact that this language is one variety of the languages spoken in Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Montenegro.
There might be small differences between each country. But, I have not looked much into it as they speak the same language and one should be fine when learning Serbian and travelling to any of those countries.
