World Cup 2026 Ramblings - Will Argentina Win The World Cup?

After more than one month and 102 matches, we are down to the final two matches!

Previously I got 19 out of 28 winners correct in my earlier predictions from Round of 32 to quarter finals. So let's review my semi finals predictions to see how many I got right.

• France vs Spain: France to win - WRONG
• England vs Argentina: Argentina to win - CORRECT

Total: 1 out of 2 correct

As the rumours go... And yes Argentina advanced to the finals! Haha. Quality or coincidence? I will leave individuals to decide.

Once again, just purely for entertainment, let's try to predict the outcome of the final 2 matches! For easy evaluation, I will just pick the winning team regardless at full time or extra time or penalties.

France vs England

England will definitely be disappointed because they were very close to reach the finals. With a low morale and one less day of rest, France should be able to take advantage and win this decisively. Of course no one knows what the lineups will be, given the nature of third placing matches, but I believe France is the better team at least on paper. France to win.

Spain vs Argentina

I have this hypothesis that more people would prefer Spain to win. Be it a different winner, or just not happy with how the tournament went down with the refereeing decisions and Argentina's performance. I think it will be interesting to see how a defensive Spain will handle a goal scoring Argentina. I think Spain is the better team here, since they could beat the tournament favourites France, but just like my earlier post, as with the rumours and controversies go.. Somehow, by luck or whatever.. Argentina to win.
