Weekend Engagement - Blah Blah Blah

Awkward silence, or talking too much...do you do one or the other or know someone who does? Explain.
Yup I definitely do one of them. But guess which one?
For most of you who have been following this account of mine, you probably would have guessed it correctly. And that's awkward silence. But maybe not that awkward (in my view). Hehe!
Growing up, I realised I really disliked small talk. When I started working, every Monday, when colleagues bump into each other in the office pantry, people would start asking "How's your weekend?" But in my mind, I would be thinking, do they really want to know or do they really care about what I did during the weekend? Of course, there would always be the extroverts, ever willing to share their eventful weekends, but for me, my weekends were pretty boring to most people. I rest, I eat some nice food, I go for exercise, and I spend some time with family and friends.
That said, I think it's inevitable that there are occasions where we need to make small talk, even though both parties know we are just talking for the sake of being polite to each other, in meetings, in events, in parties. While I very much prefer to be occupied in my thoughts, I have learnt to be comfortable to make small talk when it is necessary.
As we all know, there are many different types of people, with many different personalities. And for some people like me, we talk to ourselves a lot in our mind. Yes, we mentally talk to ourselves. (I am not the only one right?) So when lots of stuff are going through in my mind, our energy is actually pretty much utilised, thinking about practical stuff like our schedules, our life goals, our future plans, etc. In a way, because we are so occupied with our thoughts, sometimes we don't even realise that there's any awkward silence. It probably sounds funny to some, but that's how people like me actually function.
And to make us pause our thinking about these seemingly meaningful and important stuff, to make small talk about the weather, about news headlines, or the latest idol concert that you have attended, I mean, obviously, that's not our preferred choice versus having that awkward silence. After all, someone did say before that silence is golden. Haha!
At the end of the day, in all fairness, I think we can be open-minded to accept that some people prefer to live in a world that has a good amount of silence (and peace), and some people prefer to live in a world that is loud (and happening), and there's no right or wrong.
Taking inspiration from this unique drink that I recently tried, because I heard it's one of the favourite drink by a popular global artiste. (You can ask the AI machines and you would get the answers easily, I have back-tested Gemini and ChatGPT!) The combination is pretty unique, and the main components are matcha, blue spirulina and coconut juice. Just like different types of people we encounter in our daily lives, every ingredient in this drink brings its own colour to the table, and I must say, the overall taste was refreshingly good (especially on a hot day)!
